A blanket of stars, a waterfall raining down from the starry sky. A lake filled with stars and a faint blue glow to light up the area. With the fireflies flying around and the glowing balls of light rising off the water's surface, it was a majestic sight to behold. Lexy was sitting in Megalim's lap on the shore while Megalim scratched her ears. "This is a beautiful sight. If this is the last day we are alive, then I will not mind leaving after seeing such a sight as this."

"Lexy, don't say such things. We will be just fine." Megalim pursed her lips as she pulled on Lexy's ears.

"Nya!" Lexy pouted and swatted at Megalim's hands, but Megalim quickly evaded and giggled. They had already set their tent up for the night and planned to stay here during the patch.  "How much longer?"

"A few more minutes." Megalim hugged Lexy tighter and rested her head on her shoulder.

Lexy smiled and turned her head, kissing Megalim's lips. This light kiss turned into a deeper one as they sat under the starlight. Their tongues intertwined as they held each other. It was as if the kiss they were having now would be their last. Lexy broke the kiss and turned herself around so that she could wrap her legs around Megalim's waist and her arms around her neck before diving in for another kiss.

The seconds ticked by as the two were engrossed in their sensual kiss. Finally, as if a ticking sound could be heard around them, their lips parted. Lexy, who had tears welling up in her eyes, looked Megalim in the eyes as she said: "If this is our last moment, then I should at least say I love you once. My cute little Megalim. Thank you for choosing me."

"Mmm, Lexy, I love you too..." Megalim could no longer hold back her fears and worries as she began to cry. The two had their foreheads pressed together as they hugged each other tightly, waiting for the final seconds to unfold.

As the clock struck the witching hour, everything went white, and Lexy found herself in a white space. "Oh, you're finally here..." An older man in white robes with white hair and beard looked at Lexy. Who was sitting there in a daze.

"Am I dead?" Lexy asked. Her questioning gaze fell on the old man.

"You have been dead this entire time. Well, originally, you were in a coma, but I felt it was too cruel to keep you in such a state, so I had them pull the plug, leaving your consciousness in the game. You are officially part of the game. What was it? New something or another. Anyway, the game's name does not matter." The old man answered.

"What will happen to me? No more importantly, what about Becky? Will she be okay? She won't get deleted, right!? She will be fine after the patch, right?" Lexy couldn't care less about herself. She was more worried about Megalim, who had such a rough life as it was. "Becky deserves a happy life, so please do not delete her." Tears began welling up in her eyes as Lexy pulled her knees up to her chest and hugged them.

The old man looked thoughtfully at Lexy and smiled. "You do not need to worry. She will be just fine. I would not have sent her someplace to live out the life she wished for, only to take it away. But I must say you have truly changed. Are you getting used to your life in the game?"

"Huh? Ah… Yes…"  Lexy let out a sigh of relief, hearing Megalim would be fine. She then smiled as she answered the old man's question. "Ummm… Can I know who I was? I seem to not be able to remember anything about my past self..."

"You are now Lexy and will no longer be associated with your past self, so there is no need to know. While what you did before was unforgivable, I will no longer impose any more punishments on you, but you will still have the ones I have placed on you. But as someone who is fair, I will give you a reward for helping that girl by giving her what she needed most in life, companionship and the care and love of another. I will not tell you what your reward is, but as long as you reach the highest level of the lower realm of the game and ascend to the next, you will be given your reward. So work hard and live a life without regret because that game is your New World. Now off with you and take care of that girl by your side. She needs you more than anything else." Lexy watched as the old man waved his hand, and the next thing she knew, she was back sitting in Megalim's lap, hugging her tightly.

She checked the ingame time and saw it had only been a minute since she last checked. The patch should be underway, but she was still in the game as if it had never been set to undergo maintenance. "Lexy? What is going on?"

"I think we will never need to worry about any patches ever again," Lexy said with a smile as she pecked Megalim's lips. She then kissed her way to Megalim's ears and attacked relentlessly. This whole experience made her realize how much she loved Megalim. She had not realized it until she was split apart from her and wanted nothing but to fight for Megalim's happiness. Although her words were unnecessary, as long as Megalim was fine, Lexy did not matter what happened to her.

Their first patch together would be a moment they will always remember for the rest of their lives. Not to mention the multiple eargasms they both had as well. It was a moment that brought the two closer together than ever before.
