While Kane and his family were celebrating Dean was at the hospital getting bandaged up. “Ouch! Shit can’t you be more gentle!?”

    “Sir, I am being gentle. I already told you it would sting!” The nurse was not in a good mood. She had never met such a rude young man before. If she was his mother she would have slapped him silly by now until he finally learned some manners.

“You! Do you know who I am!? I can easily get you fired from this place!" Dean was not happy. He had never been so humiliated in his entire life. He was already trying to figure out a way to get his revenge. He had completely forgotten that he had messed up big time this time.

The nurse stood up and threw the ointment at Dean. “Then do it yourself if you think you can do it better!” 

“Yo…” Dean was cut off when the door to his hospital room suddenly slammed open. He looked up to see his father walking in. “Da-Dad? Why are you mad?”

“Why am I mad? Are you really asking me that question you fucking idiot!? You lost me millions today! I had a contract with the Heartlands and you went and ruined it! They backed out and now all the money I invested is gone! I am taking back all your cards. From this moment on you will go back to college and live on campus! If you want money go earn it yourself!” Dean’s father was a hair away from beating this stupid son of his up. He wanted nothing more than to kick him out of the family but he only had this one son!

“Dad today was not my fault! It was the young man who was with Jackie! He beat me up just because I said a few words!” Dean was not willing to give up. If he lost his cards he would have no money! How was he going to go out and play if he had no money?

“I do not care if you got beaten up by a damn cat! If you did not open your mouth and start talking shit like you always do, then you wouldn’t have caused me to lose millions! I have covered so many incidents up for you but you had to go and do it to one of Jackie’s friends! Jackie Heartland is George Heartland’s little angel. He dotes on that girl day and night. And from what I understand she has one friend she sees as her sister and that same girl is also doted on by him. And you had to go talk so much shit!” Dean’s father had long investigated everything before rushing over here. He needed to know exactly what had happened. When he found everything out he couldn’t believe his son was so stupid. 

 “I…” Dean finally came to a realization. He had also heard of this. The cute girl who was standing at that bastard’s side looked like a small animal. He wanted her for himself! But now he realized he had really made a huge mistake. That girl was Jackie’s princess. It was well known that Jackie fiercely protected the girl. He understood his mistake about the girl but the man still could not be let off! “What about the young man who hit me then? Do I just take him beating me up as a lesson? How am I supposed to raise my head in front of people again if nothing is done about this?”

“Are you an idiot? Did I really raise an idiot!?” Dean’s father yelled out. “Did you not listen to my words? The man who kicked your ass tonight is her husband! That means he is also protected by the Heartlands! Let me tell you this now. If you dare to try to lay a hand on that young man, do not think I will not disown you. I can always adopt another son. One that will be ten times more obedient than you! Hell, maybe I will go talk to this young man who kicked your ass. He seems to be an upright character!”

Dean was getting hit left and right by his father’s words. Disowned… Newly adopted son…. That bastard being taken in by his father….  These were huge blows to his ego and his hate for Kane was growing by the second. He gritted his teeth and lowered his head. “I will go back to college….” He would not let things end here. He would lie low for the time being and appease his father.

“Then finish your treatment and get back to the house. I will send you there personally tomorrow morning. Do not even think of getting a cent from me until you learn the harshness of the world. You need to learn what it means to work hard for your money.” With that Dean’s father turned to leave but stopped at the door. “I will be waiting in the car. Hurry up!”

After he left the nurse who was hiding in the corner not daring to say a word tried to sneak out before being stopped by Dean. “You heard my father hurry up!”

The nurse snorted and walked over to the bed, picked up the ointment, poured some on her hand, and then slapped it on Dean’s face! “There done!” She then turned and left the room in a hurry.

“Ouch! Damn bitch!”
