Yuki Becomes A Master Part 2

Yuki stood on the stage and looked at Riku, who was across from her, and smiled. “Let’s have a good match.”

“I will be in your care,” Riku replied as she returned the smile.

Elder Li looked at the two girls and knew this match would be a calm one. He felt that the young girl was truly one of a kind. She could be the most violent person in the world, or she could be the kindest. “You maybe begin!”

Yuki did not start right away. Instead, she eyed Riku up and down before frowning slightly. “Riku stand firm. Hide your nervousness. If an enemy sees that you are scared, they can use it against you!”

“Ri-right!” Riku took a deep breath and let it out slowly. She calmed herself down before finally looking Yuki in the eyes.

Yuki smiled and nodded her head. “Much better. Now, here I come!”

Yuki disappeared, causing Riku to be slightly startled. She had expected this, but she still couldn’t help but feel as if she had no way to win. Just as she was about to look around, she felt something cold against her neck. She leaned in and whispered: “You could have died just now. Your head would have been floating through the air. You need to use your spiritual sense to detect your surroundings. Even against a faster opponent, you need to be able to sense your surroundings and pick up on any shift in the air. Spiritual qi is all around us. Use it to your advantage. It can not only be used for cultivating but as a means to detect enemies you can not see.”

“Yes!” Riku felt enlightened. She soon felt the cold feeling from her neck disappear, and Yuki appeared in front of her back in her original spot. “Again!”

Yuki went back and forth with Riku. She was very patient as she gave Riku tips and tricks that she had learned herself. She wanted Riku to be able to be prepared for the road ahead. She did not wish to see her fall into a pit of despair as many female cultivators do. If they are not strong, they might end up being forced to do things they did not want to do.

Elder Nishikawa’s lips were curled up into a smile as she watched Yuki instruct Riku. She was not pushy, nor did she get mad. She pointed out each and every one of Riku’s flaws and began striking that spot over and over until she fixed it.

“You have a good disciple.” Elder Li suddenly appeared next to Elder Nishikawa.

“I do. But Senior, is it okay for her to be doing this now?” Elder Nishikawa did not want to be holding up the tournament.

“It’s rare for such a thing to happen, but it is not unheard of. Let them continue. The little girl is really helping her opponent out. She is also a fast learner who is quickly making progress. For her, this can be considered a fortuitous encounter. But that little girl will need protection now. Maybe even her entire sect will need it.” Elder Li was slightly worried. He knew that Yuki doing this would bring trouble for the Purple Lotus Sect.

“I already called the sect leader of the Purple Lotus Sect over. We will have them move their people to the Heavenly Cloud Sect for the time being.” Yuki’s sect master answered in Elder Nishikawa’s stead. He knew what would happen if he just left the Purple Lotus Sect to fend for themselves.

“You are truly a man of honor.”  Elder Li had a lot of respect for Yuki’s sect master.

“Yuki is a girl who has little sense when it comes to things. She charges head-on without a care. When she first joined the sect, she was ready to fight with the other elders when they got close to her. But deep down, under her blood lust, she is a very sweet and kind girl who cares for those she sees as friends.” Elder Nishikawa really felt that Yuki was someone who really had what it takes to be a cultivator. She was ruthless when she needed to be and kind to those who showed her kindness back.

“I hope to see her in the Dragon Sect in the future.” Elder Li really wished to bring this girl away now, but he knew it was not the time.

“I am sure one day she will head to the Holyland. After all, she will need to venture out on her own if she wishes to grow even stronger.” Elder Nishikawa knew that that day was coming soon.

“I will be sure to watch over her.” Elder Li left these words as he disappeared. He reappeared on the edge of the stage and sat down. He had to admit the way Yuki was teaching Riku was perfect. She was not explaining anything complicated but just teaching Riku in a way to cover her own faults. “She looked like a master teaching her disciple.”

A few hours later, Yuki stood in front of Riku with a smile. “Very good.” Yuki looked at the sword that was clashing with her own and knew Riku was starting to get used to her speed. “If we had more time, I would love to spar with you more. So maybe in the future, we will train together. If you can get used to my speed, then anyone in the same realm will never be your match.”
