“Limlim, we can try it out and see if it actually works. No?” Lexy reached down in the box and picked up the item. After which, she leaned over and kissed Megalim’s cheek. “When we take a break, we can test it out. It says it will allow for that.”

“Mmm… But… Why would they let such an item in a game, though?” Megalim couldn’t understand. She was looking at the object with great interest, but she had no idea how they were going to use it unless the information on the item was actually true.

Lexy blushed as she held the item in her hand. She then quickly stored it away. “We will find out later.” Now it was Megalim's turn to blush from ear to ear. She knew later on the two of them were going to do something new. 

With the item now out of sight and out of mind, Lexy grabbed Megalim’s hand and pulled her forward to the glowing magic circle on the floor. “This should take us to the next floor.”

While Lexy and Megalim were walking over to the portal, in her office at the New World Online’s headquarters, Melinda sat back in her chair giggling away. “Hehehehehe! The million dollars I spent for this one item that would allow that to happen and the ability to put it in my dear Lexy’s treasure chest was well worth it. I should probably pick out the things I will be needing later for the show I will finally get to watch.” Lexy and Megalim had no idea they had a pervert watching their every action.

Outside Melinda's office, the people walking by all lowered their heads, not daring to even look in the direction of the door. There were always strange and weird sounds coming from within.

The light dimmed around them, and Lexy and Megalim found themselves in a small room with three walls and an opening leading out. “I wonder how this floor will work. It seems to be slightly hot here.”

“It does…” Lexy fanned her face with her hand and pulled on her shirt to try to air it out. “I think we might be on a fire type level like one of those lava levels you would find in other games.”

“I do not remember being able to feel heat within the game before I died but now… I guess this is the difference between being a player and being someone who is living in the game.” Megalim was wearing robes and a cape and was feeling the heat much more than Lexy, who was wearing thinner clothing.

“Hehe, you could always strip down to your undies.” Lexy teased. 

“No thanks. The only one who is allowed to see those is you. Even NPCs are not allowed.” Megalim replied while sticking her tongue out. She then clapped her hands together as she said: “Cooling…”

This was a mage spell that was used to counteract the status effect heating, which would slow a player down. Cooling would chill the body allowing the player's body to regulate itself back to a normal temperature. As soon as the spell was cast, Megalim felt a wave of cool air sweep over her causing her to let out a sigh of relief. “You too. Cooling…”

“Limlim, I knew you loved me!” Lexy hugged Megalim tightly after receiving the buff. Now she no longer felt hot. 

“I will recast once it runs out.” Megalim had no idea how long they were going to be on this floor. Luckily cooling was a low level spell and only cost ten mana which she could easily regenerate before the effects of cooling wore off. The spell had a fifteen minute duration.

The two girls stepped into the hall to find they were indeed in a lava level. Up ahead, Lexy saw not only fire elementals but also bandits. It was then that Lexy was somewhat confused. “Why do they spawn bandits here when they are just normal humans? I mean, wouldn’t they be eaten by the elementals? Look over there that bandit is standing next to an elemental as if the elemental was his best friend.”

“I think the elementals are the bandits' pets. Or at least this is what we are meant to believe. But from the ones wandering around, it does make one wonder.” Megalim also wondered how devs thought up the designs for their levels. Some games would have random everything in a single level and have things like undead and humans on the same floor walking past each other. These kinds of game designs were just weird.

“Hmmm… Whoever okayed these kinds of levels are all idiots. At least make it seem more truthful. I mean, look, the names did not even change. The bandit next to the elemental still says bandit while the elemental’s name says fire elemental. It just does not make sense….” Lexy kicked the rock next to her. This said rock suddenly had a mind of its own and flew out towards a group of ten fire elementals. Lexy froze as she saw the group of fire elementals all turn and look at her… “Errr…. I’m sorry!” Bowing her head, Lexy quickly apologized.

“Lexy, I do not think saying sorry will do anything. I think it just made them angrier….” Megalim looked at the group of fire elementals making their way towards them and quickly got into a fighting stance.

“It was worth a try, right!?” Lexy pouted before pulling her sword whip out. She then pointed it at the fire elementals and yelled out: “I did try to apologize! It’s not my fault if you all die, okay!? Hmm… Sniff... Sniff... Something is burning….”

“Lexy, your tail!” Megalim cried out.

“Hmm? My tail?” Lexy turned and looked at her tail that the tip of which just so happened to be dancing underneath a waterfall of lava by the wall. Lexy’s eyes widened as she yelled out: “Nya! My tail! Phusssh! Phussshhh!” 

Lexy pulled her poor tail out of the lava and began blowing on it. Her poor tail had been singed!  “Waggy, are you okay? Poor little waggy….” 

Megalim turned around, her shoulders shaking. She never knew Lexy named her tail! This was too cute! But what kind of name was waggy!? Lexy paid no mind to Megalim’s shaking shoulders as she gently patted her tail, trying to smooth out the burnt hair while pouting her bottom lip.
