I Failed To Be Truck Kun’d And Was Forced Into A VRMMO As A Cat-Girl
Zombie Waves
"Megalim, I'm sorry!" Lexy yelled as she pulled Megalim along with her. The horde of zombies was massive and not something the two of them could take on alone. But what made things more difficult was that this portion of the quest had locked them within the town's limits, with an invisible wall making it so they could not escape.
So all they could do at this point was keep running around with all the zombies chasing after them. Lexy was actually cursing herself for calling the undead knight stinky. Now every zombie ignored everyone and only chased after her. "Lexy, weave in and out of the buildings. They are not all that fast, so if we spread them out, it might help us kill them."
Lexy finally looked back and looked at the zombies that were actually pretty far away from her, some of which stopped because they had lost sight of her. After thinking about what Megalim said, her idea was very good! "We will do that!"
And so she did! The two girls began running around the town with the hored running behind them, some of which had lost track of Lexy and stopped chasing all together. Only the faster zombies were really able to keep up with her. But even then, they were far behind. As such, Lexy was able to use the map to get the zombies hung up and trapped behind fences which slowed them down even more. Zombies were brainless monsters who only had one order: Kill Lexy.
So when a bunch of them got stuck behind a fence, Lexy and Megalim hurled spells at them, burning them to ash. Soon it got to the point that no zombies were chasing them anymore, and they could easily deal with what was left by pulling them and trapping them in certain locations before casting spells at them.
The best part about this was that these zombies also gave experience points as well! After killing half the wave Lexy had gained two whole levels!
[Level]: 17 → 19
[Over Experience]: 999,999,903,874 → 999,999,872,677
[Status Points]: 15 → 25
The two kept repeating this same process over and over until finally, the last zombie was murdered under Megalim fireball. "Ah! It's over!"
[Level]: 19 → 20
[Over Experience]: 999,999,872,677 → 999,999,853,098
[Status Points]: 25 → 30
[Wave 11 has activated, please prepare yourself!]
"Wait! Let us rest!" Megalim yelled out. She was almost out of mana!
"Megalim, just rest. They are chasing after me anyway…." Lexy was trying to console Megalim when the undead knight appeared in the sky again and began talking.
"I see you are a strong foe! I will be sure to send you both to your doom now! Hahahahaha!" The undead knight yelled out as he cackled with laughter.
After laughing away, he raised his hands to the air causing a large magic circle to form in the sky. Green lighting shot down from the magic circle, hitting the ground, causing more zombies to crawl up from the ground. But this time, there was a new kind. It was a fat zombie with disgusting boils on his face oozing some kind of weird fluid. But the disgusting look was not what scared Lexy and Megalim. It was the green fog that came up from under its feet and the sizzling sound that could be heard with each of its steps.
"Megalim, I think that guy is trouble!" Yes, big trouble! It was spreading poison! Lexy could see that with each step, a green fog formed and lingered. The sizzling sound was heard with each step as its foot melted the ground. Only one thing ran through Lexy's mind when she saw this: This guy's feet stink so much that the stench turned into poison! She kept these thoughts to herself, of course. She learned her lesson last time when ten waves were sent at her at once. She did not want a repeat of that.
"Lexy, same plan as before?" Megalim asked.
"We need to take out the fat guys first, or we will end up causing poison to spread across the whole town, making it hard for us to do the same thing as before. The developers probably already thought of that, which is why this time they spawned zombies with poison." Lexy frowned as she looked at the horde slowly making their way towards them.
Lexy pulled Megalim with her as she decided to put more distance between them. Luckily this wave was filled with slow zombies. Lexy just needed time to think. As she ran down the street, she looked at the broken-down houses and suddenly came to a stop. "I got it!"
"What did you get!?" Megalim asked. She was lost as to what Lexy meant.
"Come follow me. We will use one of these houses to trap the horde! But first, we need to build some barricades." Lexy's idea was a simple one for sure. She wanted to build a strong barricade inside one of the houses, which only had a single set of stairs leading up. But also keep it so that she can easily make it over the barricade itself. She would then lure the zombies into the house, where Megalim will keep them by the barricade. Lexy would then hop out the window and lure more zombies in.
The zombies did not try to break anything when stuck behind the fences. They would just run into the fence and stand there looking at you. As long as you were in sight, they would not try to path elsewhere. She could only hope this plan would work. But she also needed a small place to enclose the zombies, so if Megalim used an area of effect attack spell, it would encompass them all. "If they for some reason break through the barrier, just jump out the window and come to me. Do not try to fight them alone."
"Alright, I won't." Megalim felt Lexy's plan was good. While this would still work on a fenced-in area with her current mana, she did not have enough to cast a large area of effect spells, just small ones. She smiled knowing Lexy was thinking of her current state as well.
"Alright then let's hurry and set up!"
