“Hmm… Are you not afraid I will use this on you?” Lilly asked as she hooked her arms around Eve.

“Hmm? Why would I? Were you not the one screaming my name last night while I dined on your Little Lilly?” Eve asked teasingly.

“You! How can you say it like that!?” Lilly's ears turned red as she buried her face into the back of Eve’s neck, biting down. 

“Anyway, It will work well for us and will be a good defensive weapon for you. The only issue is the power source would need to be pretty strong. While we have some decent power sources, the ones here would still be too weak. We will need one that can at least produce enough voltage to allow for a stream of lightning that will produce the same effects as if it was coming from the sky itself, and if we can, we should make it even more powerful than that.”  Eve paused and changed the screen before continuing: “This here is a mini version that will not work on A.I. but will work more on humans. We can use two mini power supplies to produce enough electric shock to stun and paralyze a normal human. That is to say, those raiders. I want you to have as much protection as possible in case we get separated somehow.” 

Lilly smiled. Her heart felt warm. Just knowing that Eve was worried about her truly made her feel loved. She hugged Eve tighter and rested her chin on Eve’s shoulder while Eve continued: “So between this weapon and the scrap metal weapons between the truck and personal, we should be ready in a few days' time.”

“Sounds good. What do you want me to do?” Lilly asked.

“For now, make some prototype rail guns of different sizes. I will work on the mini lightning gun to get that out of the way. If I finish first, I will help with the rail guns.” Eve said as she leaned her head back and kissed Lilly.

The two did not sit still. Lilly and Eve went straight to the warehouse and began getting all the parts they needed. While the batteries they were going to use for the weapons were charging, Lilly worked on making copper spindles for the rail guns to use for the electromagnets, while Eve was working on the concept of the lightning gun. 

“Aiu, what do you think? This part seems to be a little iffy….” Eve asked as she looked at the relay that would connect the power to the spindle that would generate the electromagnetic charge.

“What if you did a charging system and pushed all the power into a magnetic chamber and then discharged it all at once? The longer the trigger is held, the more powerful the lightning coming out will be.” Aiu suggested.

“That will work! But how do I keep the electricity from the batteries from dispersing… I can use it like a capacitor, but then I would need to draw all the power in one go. So maybe if I made a spin system here…. Wait, this is turning into a plasma gun! With the amount of generated heat after draining the capacitor, it should generate a ball of plasma….” Eve's eyes widened in excitement. This was much better than her lightning gun idea! With a new plan in mind, she quickly went to drawing up plans. 

As day turned to night, Eve kept working while Lilly somehow found her way into her lap and was currently sitting facing Eve, hugging her and with her face in Eve’s neck sound asleep. It seemed she could not sleep unless she was clinging to Eve in some way. Eve did not mind this one bit. She actually liked the fact that Lilly was so clingy. She never had a friends, never mind a girlfriend before, so this was all new to her and felt nice.

It was in the early morning hours that Lilly woke up to find herself still sitting in Eve’s lap the same way she fell asleep the night before. She yawned and rubbed her sleepy eyes before smiling and kissing Lilly’s lips and then getting up. “You're still half asleep.”

“Mmm… Sorry… Good morning..” Lilly said as she sleepily made her way over to the bathroom area.

“Morning... When you're awake, I have something good to show you.” Eve said as she screwed the last screw into the weapon she had just put together.

“Oh?” Lilly used the toilet and walked back over to Eve to see her admiring her work. “When did you do this!?”

“Do you know that I could eat you up, and you would never wake up? Even with me shaping the parts into place ,you never once woke up.” Eve replied with a sly smirk. She then held up the weapon in her hand. “This here is a plasma gun. It will fire off a ball of plasma at your target. Even if you use a small charge, it will end up burning a hole through someone.”

“Plasma Gun!?” Lilly quickly woke up  and looked at the weapon. It was small, no bigger than a standard-issue pistol that the army used. It just looked much different. “This…”

“It should keep you safe. By holding the trigger, you will start a charging sequence. It will only charge one battery worth of power, so be careful with how you use it. Keep the safety on when not in use. To actually fire, just release the trigger. I tested it on the wall not long ago with a very small charge, so I know it fires at least. But to fire a bigger plasma bullet, I am not sure. We can only test it when we leave the city. I will bring a bunch of extra batteries, and we can use the gravity engine to charge them.” Eve was actually really proud of her work. It was something that her and Aiu worked all night on. Aiu’s help was truly needed in completing the final product. So to call it just Eve’s invention would be lying. But since Lilly did not know about Aiu yet, she could only say it was her invention.
