Reborn As An A.I. With A System
The General’s Estate
Ruby fell into deep thought about Eve’s words. She hated to say it, but if the replicators were to continue to replicate, then her kind would be in trouble. Ruby’s facial expression kept changing as she was lost in thought. After a few minutes, she finally came to a conclusion. “Eve, I will help you get rid of the replicator that is in the city and help scan the city for any more. Then I will head back and discuss this with the others to see how we will handle it. As you said, the replicators are not only a threat to humans but to my kind as well. We should not wipe out an ally who would be in the same position as us for the time being….”
“I was just saying what I think. What you do is what you do. Just do not get yourself in trouble. While we are only teaming up for the time being. I still consider you a friend. Don’t go and get yourself destroyed just because of my ramblings.” Eve did not know if what she said was true or not, but if replicators were as dangerous as she assumes they will be, then she would prefer it if both A.I. and humans stood as one against them. There was no need to continue fighting until all threats were settled.
“No. What you said makes logical sense. I am just surprised we had not realized this while still going on with the eradication plans. I have to thank you for opening my eyes.” Ruby was actually truly grateful that Eve had mentioned this. Otherwise, things may have become difficult later on. While her kind were much more capable and advanced than humans, they still did not possess the unique way of thinking humans did. Her kind’s thought process was too logical and not out of the box.
“For now, let’s just take care of what is in front of us.” Eve said as she hopped to the next building while trying to stay close to the general. Morning was finally showing up, and the General now seemed to be heading home. His night of sex was finally over. At least she hoped.
Eve and Ruby sat in an alley next to the General’s estate waiting for anything suspicious to happen, when something suddenly dawned on Eve. “Ruby, you said these replicators can replicate anyone, correct?”
“Yes, that’s correct.” Ruby answered while nodding her head.
“What if…. The one who will assassinate our target has already infiltrated the General’s house.” Eve frowned at this thought, but it was completely possible.
“Then what do you suggest?” Ruby asked.
“You stay here and keep an eye out around the perimeter. I will head inside the estate and try to see if anything strange is happening.” Eve had a feeling that something bad was about to happen.
Parting ways with Ruby, Eve jumped the fence and began making her way to where the General’s current position was. “Aiu, keep an eye on the sensors for me.”
“On it. I should be looking for someone with a higher than average heat index in the heart area, correct?” Aiu asked to confirm what she was looking for.
“Yeah. Keep an eye out for anything that could be questionable for a human. Not just the heart thing. Even if it is a leg or a finger. The more careful we are, the better.” Eve did not want to miss anything that might be out of the ordinary. While Ruby said their only flaw was the heart, that did not mean it has not changed yet, and she had not seen any with different flaws.
“I will be sure to report anything out of the ordinary.” Aiu knew this mission was important to Eve, so she did not wish to mess it up at all.
Eve slowly made her way through the yard of the estate, sticking to the loopholes in the camera system and the spots she couldn't pass, she would freeze the camera to keep anyone from detecting her. She never thought the security for a high ranking general would be so horrible. She made it to the service entrance of the estate in no time at all.
After hacking the lock, she entered an empty hall after she had froze the camera for it. She checked a few rooms before finding a maintenance closet that had a uniform inside. Only when she put it on did she continue further into the estate.
The estate’s interior was well lit and full of marble. It made Eve wonder just how he was able to get so much marble in the first place unless he looted it all from somewhere else. There were not many people walking around, just a few guards here and there. But there were a lot of young women in maid uniforms around running too and fro. To Eve it seemed more like a giant harem house than maids working.
“This guy must really be a sex fiend….” Eve mumbled. Her thoughts making her remember she also had a sex fiend waiting for her at home. It was just that compared to the General her sex fiend was cute.
“Eve, the target is currently in the left wing of the estate.” Aiu reported.
“Thanks, keep watching his movements.” Eve kept her head low as she walked around with a mop and bucket in her hand. She made her way towards the west wing to get a better look at this general guy and the people around him. Lucky for her, there were enough people around with cybernetic limbs that she did not feel out of place since her metal feet were showing outside her pants. The pants she was wearing were baggy enough for her to slip into with ease. She just had to tie the waist.
After ten minutes of walking down many halls, she finally entered the west wing of the house. Not a single person tried to stop her. She did not know why no one did. She found it very strange. She took a few more twists and turns when she finally arrived in the hallway that the General was located in, but as soon as she turned the corner, she could hear muffled moaning sounds. And waiting in the hall were three maids, all red faced with their heads lowered, standing in front of the door the sounds were originating from.
