Reborn As An A.I. With A System
Trouble At The Gates Part 2
A cold chill filled the air as Lilly looked at Todd with eyes filled with killing intent. “Todd, what the fuck did you just say? Did you just ask my girlfriend to get out of the truck to check to see if she is a spy?”
“Lilly, Maybe I have been too nice to you. First, you always completely reject me and use me to your advantage, and now you are going around behind my back fucking some strange bitch with metal legs when you know how much I love you. Second, I am just doing my job. Any cyborg needs to be detained and checked to make sure they are not an A.I. spy. ” Todd replied, his anger not subsiding at all.
The guards at the gate all frowned. “Hey, Todd…”
“Leave it be. Let’s see how it plays out. It is about time the kid got knocked down a peg. Also, make a note to give him a demerit. He will also lose two months of wages. But if things get out of hand, apprehend him and take him in.” The leader of the guards said. He was an easy-going guy, but once someone began abusing their power to do bad things, he would not hold back.
“Sir! Yes, Sir!” The guards all saluted and got ready just in case.
“Todd, you fucking bastard! It is a good thing I never accepted, or I would have been stuck with a fucking psycho like you!” Lilly raged as she went to reach for her weapon. She would never allow anyone to bad mouth her Eve. Eve was her soul mate. Her one and only. She would never allow anything to happen to Eve, even if it meant becoming mankind’s enemy. But as her hand was about to unholster her plasma gun, a hand reached out and stopped her.
“Lilly, he’s not worth it.” Eve said as she pulled her hood off. Her beautiful face came into view, stunning all the men at the gate. Todd stared stupidly at Eve, transfixed by her beauty.
Lilly turned and looked at Eve, her cheeks puffed out in anger. She really wished to beat this man to a pulp. But when she saw Eve looking at her, she slowly moved her hand away from her gun. Eve smiled and leaned over and gave her a peck on the cheek. “Good girl. Now then…”
Eve stretched her arms and slid to the passenger side door, and opened it. Lilly was confused as to what was going on and wanted to stop Eve…. “Hey, what?”
“It’s fine. Trust me.” Eve said with a smile as she got out and then walked around the backside of the truck. She knew the range on the heat sensor, and she was just out of reach, so she was perfectly safe even if the signal on their sensors got mixed up. Lilly watched anxiously from inside the truck as Eve walked over to Todd. “So your name is Todd or Dickshit?”
“Huh?” Todd was still in a daze due to Eve's beauty and did not clearly hear what Eve said.
“I asked if your name is Todd or Dickshit, or is your first name Todd and your last name is Dickshit?” Eve asked, raising her voice a bit more. Her words caused a few chuckles from the guards watching the show.
“You!? What!? What do you mean?” Todd was very confused as to why he was suddenly being asked such a stupid question.
“I see, so you are just slow on the uptake. Then let me ask this question. Have you ever been to the front line?” Eve asked while crossing her arms in front of her chest.
“Huh? No! I have always been on guard duty.” Todd replied. He did not understand what Eve was getting at.
“Oh? So you're a dickshit pussy who hides behind a wall, enjoying life to its fullest, without actually going out and seeing what you are fighting. Then let me ask you another question. Do you know what it is like to have your waist completely blown off?” Eve's eyes were full of mockery as she stared Todd down. Of course, she had no idea what the front lines were like or what happened there, but Todd didn’t know this. The way to make people believe something is to be confident when you speak. She had a lot of practice on this front when people used to try to steal her research. She used her self-confidence to play with them until they were completely bankrupt and lost everything.
“I…” Todd's face paled just thinking about it. His eyes subconsciously looked at the metal legs of the girl in front of him and gulped.
“I what? Were you not talking big earlier? Were you not commanding me to get out of the truck? Now that I am here, why are you not trying to forcefully search me so you can then say you found something? You're prejudiced against people who are cyborgs when you haven't even met a single A.I. in your entire life!? Are you fucking kidding me!? What the fuck did I go to the front lines for? Why am I protecting asshole dickshits like you, who will point out the fact that I lost the entire lower half of my body? Are you picking a fucking fight with me!?” As she spoke, Eve’s voice got louder and louder. Todd was staring at Eve in disbelief, at a loss for words. He had no way of retorting! Luckily Eve was smart and looked up all the laws of this city, so she understood a great deal about what the laws were.
“Listen here, little puppy, if you were to really try to force an inspection on me without me even going through the scanner first, I have every right to kill your stupid ass right here and now. No one would stop me.” Eve’s eyes turned cold as she stared at Todd, causing him to take a few steps back. He was a coward through and through. He lived a life sitting at the city gates since it was an easy job and did not require him to go to the battlefield. Out of all the guards, only he was the only one who had yet to serve on the front lines.
“Todd, back off. The little lass is right. You make any move to confine her even if she were to kill you in cold blood, she would be in the right.”
