Reborn As A Vampire With A System

Died in battle during a great world war. Fate woke up to find herself transformed into something not human. In a new place and new time, Fate must cope with her new surroundings and learn about her new powers, all while fighting against her hunger and the changes to her mentality.

An Opportunity To Live Part 2

The man could not understand why things turned out this way. All the way until his vision went completely black, he looked at his brother in arms in shock. He felt unwilling. He did not wish to die like this. But there was nothing he could do. Once one's life is on the line, there is no telling what a person will do. This was why weeding out the weak-minded was the best solution. Those with a weak mind and fear of death will be the first to act in self-preservation. They would immediately turn on those they saw as friends and comrades without a single hint of reluctance.

Fate watched from the side. She found an old piece of cloth that covered a crate and used it to cover her body. She watched the show in front of her with great interest. “Was this how the robots felt when humans fought each other even when the fate of humanity at that time was about to go extinct? It is truly an interesting show.”

Crossing her legs and propping her head upon her hand, she watched from the side as the remaining men in the cargo bay killed one another. Every so often, a stray bullet would come her way, but she ignored them as she could sense they would not hit her. She truly felt that her new body was amazing, nothing like her once weak human body that could not even sense danger easily.

Humans became too reliant on technology, and all their animal instincts disappeared. The primal instincts they had were lost as time went on. Although this was the thoughts going on in her mind at this time, Fate was unsure if humans could have ever evolved to a point that they could dodge bullets just by sensing them. She chuckled at her own thoughts. “Here I am watching people kill each other, and I am thinking about what-ifs of evolution.  Oh, it seems to be over.”

*Clap!* *Clap!* *Clap!*

Fate clapped her hands together and jumped off the box she was on. “Very good gentlemen. You three are now the winners of this little game. First, let’s start with your names. First names only, I won’t remember last names.”

The three men stared blankly at the beautiful young woman who had dried bloodstains all over her, unsure of what to do. Seeing them still staring blankly caused Fate’s brow to wrinkle. “I know you did not go dumb. So hurry up and answer my question because going  ‘hey you’  to you fools is not exactly my preferred way of calling people.”

“Ah… My name is Chuck.” The first of the three men answered. He had red hair and a big scar across his face.

“Mike.” The next guy answered. He was tall and muscular with a bald head that reflected the dim lights of the ceiling well.

“Andy…” The last of the three answered. He had long black hair that was all over the place from all the fighting.

“Mmm… Good so Chucky, Mikey, and Andy. Now then. I need to know a few things. This is a cargo bay, so this must be a ship of some kind, right?” Fate asked as she walked over and stood in front of the three men.

“Ye-yes… This is the Rocker, a hauler class freight ship we altered and added weapons to. Although it has seen better days.” Chuck answered.

“Hmm? Hauler class?” Fate scratched her head. She had no idea what kind of ship that was, but it didn’t matter. “Alright, next thing I need to know is where do you keep your clean clothes and where the shower is.”

Fate really wanted to clean up. She was covered in blood and wanted to put on some actual clothes as well. Although she had decided not to kill the last three men because she would need them, She had no idea how to drive a boat.

“I will take you there.” Mike stepped forward. He did not wish to have the ship's new princess get angry and kill the last of them. He knew that both Chuck and Andy were needed for flying the ship. Otherwise, they would be stuck out in the middle of nowhere in space where no one ever flies through. “Andy, Chuck, you should head back to your stations. If we hit anything, we will be as good as dead.”

“Ah right!” Andy, who was about to say he would show Fate around, realized why Mike stepped forward. “Chuck, let’s go.”

“Mm… Umm, Miss…” Chuck realized he didn't know this young woman's name. So he was unsure what he should call her by.

“The name’s Fate. Just do your thing. As long as you do not try to kill me or peep on me, I won’t kill you. I think you all already got a good eyeful earlier.” Fate’s words cause the three men to blush. They indeed did get an eyeful.

“Then Fate, Andy, and I need to head back to the bridge to make sure we do not crash into anything. If you need anything, just tell Mike, he will be sure to help you as much as possible.” Chuck nodded to Andy, and the two of them left to head towards the bridge.

“Please follow me.” Mike motioned for Fate to follow him, and the two walked out into the hallway heading towards the sleeping quarters.

It took ten minutes to get to the sleeping quarters. The entire time Fate felt like something was off about this place. Everything seemed overly thick. The walls, everything. They stopped in front of a door at the end of the hall where Mike stood to the side of the door and pressed a few buttons on the panel. “This is the boss’s quarters; it is the only one with a private bathroom. I will be waiting here outside, so if you need anything, just ask. There should be a closet in there with clothes.”

“Thanks.” Fate walked through the door, which automatically closed after her. She then looked around the area, but her gaze froze on the window not far from her. What she was seeing had her absolutely shocked. “What the fuck is this!?”
