His hair was no longer black but a platinum blonde that looked silver. His eyes were a sky blue, a little lighter than what he had before. What really made him realize he was no longer in his own body was his facial features. While before, he could say he was not ugly since he had average looks, now he could say he was very handsome. Even with the bruises, he could tell he was definitely a handsome young man.

What he did not understand was why he did not seem to resemble Leena at all. Sora could only make guesses and assumptions on why this was so since he did not have any memories of his current self’s past.  She had long black hair and reddish eyes. 

A few days passed, and Sora was finally able to get out of bed. He had been beaten pretty badly and then caught a fever, so his body was weak and took a while to heal up. Luckily no bones were broken. It seemed due to Sora’s body always hunting in the woods and doing physical labor every day. His body was quite sturdy, which saved his life.

But some of the things he learned were that he was currently in Breeze Village, a small village on the outskirts of Hollows Forest. It was in a region called the borderlands as it bordered one of the great forests on the Misty Wind Continent. It was a continent that had four magical kingdoms and the Dark Lands. The four kingdoms were the Kingdom of Frandsdale, the Kingdom of Fortsinthia. The Kingdom of Drawvaco, and lastly, the kingdom in which he currently resided, the Kingdom of Freia. Of the four kingdoms, the Kingdom of Drawvaco was the strongest, and while all the kingdoms seemed to be at peace, there were secret skirmishes here and there along the borders. 

The Misty Wind Continent was like a giant circle and in the middle of this circle was the Darklands. The Kingdom of Freia was bordered by the Kingdom of Gransdale and the Kingdom of Frotsinthia. And out of the four kingdoms, it was the smallest but had some of the best fertile lands and was located in the south. The Kingdom of Drawvaco was in the north and took up a good portion of the continent. 

Besides this basic information that Leena was taught when she was younger by their mother, She did not know much more than that. One thing Leena said was that their mother always said that no matter what,  they should never venture past the outer rim of Hollows Forest. She said it was very dangerous with the magic beasts.

Magic beasts were monsters that Sora thought were just tales of fantasy from his old life. He even used to tell his little sister Ai stories of magic and monsters where great wizards would become heroes and kill off the demon king.  But now, in his new life, real monsters that could kill a mortal just by breathing roamed the lands.

“Brother, how do you feel this morning? Any more aches and pains?” Leena looked at Sora with worry in her eyes as she watched him walk around. 

“Everything seems to be fine. I owe you a lot, Leena. You took care of me for so long while doing all the housework. So from now on, you do not need to do anything else. You can sit back and relax and allow your brother to pamper you.” Sora really had to hand it to the little girl. She did all the housework and even ran to the forest edge to gather forest vegetables. She was so young but doing so much. But now, he would allow her to be a little girl. Unlike the slums, although some people were jerks in this village, it was quite safe from what he understood. They just had to watch out for that Frederick Dunham kid.

But unlike the old Sora, who did not know how to fight, he did. He would just need to be careful of the fire magic that the jerk could use. This did not mean Sora was going to go look for trouble. But he would not stand for it if someone picked on Leena. 

“No, can do, Brother! I will not sit around while you work yourself to death. I can at least keep the house kept up. It may not be the best looking place in the world, but it is our home. The place the two of us have lived since we were born. Plus, we already went over this once.” Leena stated firmly. Sora sighed. He now understood that the old Sora had the same thoughts to allow his sister to do as she wanted and live the life of a princess, but the little girl refused and still did the housework.

“Alright, fine. But I will try to at least get you some meat. You are skin and bones. From now on, My little sister will live a life that is much better than before.”He was determined not to let Leena suffer anymore. The first thing he did was take a look at the walls that needed repair and the roof that had holes in it. “Alright, first meat, then I will repair the house.”

Leena’s eyes flashed with a little excitement when she heard the word meat. She resisted the urge to lick her lips. She had not had meat in a long time as it was hard to get. But that excitement was only a flash. She dared not get her hopes up too much. What she did not know was that her new older brother was someone who knew how to hunt. While he had only hunted fish before, he knew how to use a wooden spear to hunt prey.

“Leena, how safe will you be if I head to the forest?” Sora asked, but seconds later, before she could answer, he said: “Better yet, come with me. We will just do all the chores together from now on.”

After what happened to Ai, Sora had a hidden fear of leaving Leena alone. He could not leave her by herself in fear that he would come back and she would die somehow right in front of him. Leena looked at Sora and wanted to say something, but seeing his eyes that were not going to take no for an answer, she nodded her head. “Then we will do it all together.”
