Soul Fusion Magas System
Alone
Three days passed in a flash. The entire time Leena was glued to Sora’s side. At night she would hug his arm while she slept, and during the day, wherever he went, she would go too. On the third day, even though she knew she would have to leave, Leena’s tears still fell like rain. “Brother… Wu, wu…”
“Leena. By following, Ellyn, you will have a much better life from now on. In the future, when you are strong enough to protect yourself, you can come back and see your brother, okay?” Sora forced a smile and held back his tears. Although he only knew the little girl for a short while, he still owed her a lot and had taken her as his family. He was sad to see her go.
“Mmm… When Leena comes back, Brother must marry Leena, okay? Then we can be a true family.” Leena said as she hugged Sora and stood up on her tiptoes, and kissed Sora right on the lips. Her little face blushed as she quickly let go and turned around. It was no more than a peck, but to her, it was a kiss of promise to one day come back for Sora and truly become his wife.
Sora smiled and shook his head. He reached out and placed his hand on top of Leena’s head and then looked at Ellyn. “I leave my silly sister in your care.”
Ellyn looked at Sora, who now had complete trust in her, and nodded her head. “I will protect her with my life. She is now my disciple, and I will teach her everything I know and raise her into a powerful magas.” After saying this, she pulled Leena close to her and was about to fly off when she stopped and thought for a moment. She turned back and looked at Sora before a thought came to mind. She reached in her pocket and pulled out a metal disc. “This token will allow you to enter the Royal Magas Academy in the capital. Although it is far, if one day you do end up making your way there, you can show this token and ask for me. I will let you see your sister at that time.”
Sora took the token and looked at it. It showed a staff and a sword representing the two main types of mage souls and the royal crest. “I will keep it well. Once again, thank you for everything. Leena, listen to Ellyn and learn well. This way, one day, we can see each other again.”
“Brother…” Leena’s tears began to fall again. She did not want to leave. But she had to. She knew this if she wished to be strong and return one day. “Brother… Leena will definitely return one day. I promise! I will come back for you, so please… Stay alive.”
“Mmm…” Sora saw Ellyn give him a nod before flying off. In a way, he had a sense of loss. But at the same time, he was happy that Leena could have a better life. One may ask if he was jealous of Leena, the answer would be no. He was already content with being able to accomplish something he was unable to do in his past life. He could not give Ai a good life during that time, and due to his failure, he killed himself to join his little sister in death. After being reborn and meeting Leena, he wondered if the gods sent him here to allow him to fulfill his last desire of protecting his sister. If that was the case, and now that he accomplished his last desire, he wondered if he would disappear from this world altogether.
But as the days went by, he saw no end to his life. A week had now passed, and Sora had gotten used to his new life alone. He woke up as normal and sat up and looked around the small mud hut. His eyes landing on the last bit of foodstuffs he had left. “Looks like the food Ellyn secured for me is almost gone. I will need to go out and search for food myself.”
Sora was kind of dreading this. After the last incident with the lightning tiger, he still had a hidden fear within him. But knowing he could only go to the forest to secure food, he got himself ready and left his hut.
The path to the forest was long. Due to the numerous times' people had gone to the forest, there was a small path in the tall grass that rose up to Sora’s waist. He followed the path for almost an hour before finally arriving at the forest edge. There he was met with the sight he saw before when he first came to this place. The images of Leena’s smiling face as she explained each plant to Sora popped into his mind causing him to smile. He then let out a long depressed sigh. He felt very alone.
“Let’s get to it….” Sora began searching for herbs and other edible plants as he foraged through the woods. He was lucky his memory was good as he picked up each plant and even a few strands of the poisonous counterparts that Leena said were good for digestion.
Sora also stopped to create a spear. This time he made sure to make a spear with a sharp rock on the end. To secure the rock, he used thin vines that were thin yet strong. After securing the rock in place, he jabbed the ground a few times, checking how strong the spear was. When he saw it wasn’t too bad, he sharpened the sides of the rock a bit before venturing deeper into the forest. He wanted to secure some meat to eat for the next few days.
Going deeper into the forest was dangerous, but that was also where the animals lived. Only once and a great while would there be a horned rabbit or other small animals at the forest edge. As he ventured deeper, he finally spotted a furry creature. It seemed to be a cross between a fox and some kind of other animal as its tail was not fluffy at all but had a leather-like look to it and spikes sticking out of it.
Sora decided to try to get a better vantage point, so he pushed his way through the thickets, but as he did, he realized there was nothing to step on. Unable to react in time with his body was already yin motion, he began falling forward and could only quickly turn around and reach out with his hands to try to grab onto something. A stupid mistake due to his inexperience. Between that and the height of the thicket that blocked his view of the other side, he ended up stepping on air and was now falling down into a black abyss. “Ahhh!”
Sora’s scream was all that was heard as he fell into the darkness. The last thing he remembered was the sound of splashing water before his vision went dark.
