Sora was currently sitting in the center of the crevice where the mage soul was found cross-legged as he tried to sense the magicules in the air around him. While Sora sat there, he was being instructed by Yumi in his mind. “There are three stages of what is called the magicule sensing realm. There is the awareness stage, the partial sight stage, and then the visible stage.

“The awareness stage is the stage where you can feel the magicules in the air, the substance that allows us to form mana in our bodies. During the awareness stage, we can only feel it and not actually see it. But just by being able to feel it allows you to step into the world of magas. A magas can begin to manipulate magic at that time at a weak scale. This means they can cast everyday magic and attack magic if their mana bodies are a high enough rank. Although, the attack magic would only be dangerous to those in the magicule sensing realm and mortals.

“For the partial sight stage, this is when you begin to see the world around you in a different light. You will begin to see the magicules in the air and things that are imbued by mana when you focus on them. Although they will only be white in color, hence the name partial sight stage, it means you are not seeing the magicules' true form yet. But at this time, your ability to cast magic will advance by a bit and will be noticeably stronger.

“And lastly, there is the visible stage. This is when you are able to finally see magicules' true form. The would around you will also become vivid with colors of each element during the time you are concentrating on the magicules in the air. You will see those white wisps are not white but different colors matching the different elements. And like the previous stages, your magic will also become stronger. Only when you reach this stage and learn to draw the magicules into your body will you be able to advance to the next stage of being a novice mage. I will tell you about novice mages when you get to that stage.

“So let’s start off by trying to feel the flow of magicules around you. In this world, magicules flow through everything and are everywhere but are also separate at the same time. Try to feel where the bounds are between the two sources.” Yumi went quiet after her explanation to allow Sora time to try to comprehend what she said and get a feeling of the world around him.

The process of first trying to feel magicules is something that was not easy. A person had to drop their known understanding of the world and feel another invisible source of power. It is also because of this that those who had little to no knowledge of the world of magas would live out their lives, never knowing they had a mage soul. Unless they were met with a situation that allowed them to bring out their ability to use magic, they would live and die without knowing. Only those who did not come from the magic clans or people who lived in towns and cities that had more knowledge of such things would have magas bloodlines that would never get to show the world how powerful they truly were.

For these people, even if one day they did find out they had the ability to become a magas, it would be hard for them to actually sense the magicules in the air as it would take time for them to let go of their previous thinking. For example: The human body is not an actual solid object. It is made of many interconnected cells which are held together to give the appearance of a solid object. The skin, the hair, the bones, organs, all of it is made up of cells. The process of sensing magicules is like telling a person to stab themselves without hurting themselves by splitting the cells of their body up to form a hole to allow the blade to pass through. Such thought process, unless a person was able to control every cell in their body, would be impossible. But for a magas, such things are possible as they can infuse their body with magicules and turn their body into pure water or fire based on their element and how high their magic realm is. It all came down to a persons ability to change their understanding of the world around them.

As for Sora, who came from a world with no magic, such things seemed impossible. But he was determined to never give up. He sat there in the same spot for hours before falling asleep and entering his dreamscape. Within his dreamscape, Yumi would try to explain more and help him get a feel of what magicules felt like in the air. She would also go over the system with him, teaching him the ends and outs.

Because Sora was used to the feeling of hunger, he went three days without eating anything, and only on this third day did he finally begin to feel weak. But it was also on this third day that his mindset seemed to have changed a little. He did his best to ignore the hunger pains in his stomache as he kept his eyes closed and cleared his mind. “Hmmm?” Sora suddenly had a sensation that there was something around him. It would rub up against his skin and felt warm to the touch. It was not wind, but at the same time, it had that feeling wind would give as he brushed past the hair on his arms. But more gentle and filled with a soothing warmth. “Is this what magicules feel like?”

As this thought came to mind, he began to sense the same sensation not just close to him but in his surrounding area. It was floating all around him, slowly seeping into things and then flowing out of them. “This…. Yumi… I think I am sensing magicules!”

As Yumi was part of Sora, she could feel some of his sensations. She concentrated on what he was sensing, and her lips instantly curled up. “Sora, congratulations. You have officially stepped on the starting line to becoming a powerful magas. Next, I will teach you how to create a magic program to cast your first spell. This will allow you to bypass the process other new magas have to go through, which is the magic chant.”
