Midas’ Golden Eulogy
Chapter 5: Getting to the good part soon?
Happily sensing that overconfident mutt tumbling towards it’s doom Midas took this chance to understand the limits of that type of poison as well as her own ability to enhance it. Her black tongue flickering in and out as she slithered her way out of the pit while keeping vigilant. Well, at least more vigilant than
It may have seemed impressive for her to take out that Nascent Soul beast but there were a few notes of importance which made the feat far less amazing. Number one being comparing it to her racial poison. Even a new-born [Golden Eulogy Amphiptere] could do the same with said golden venom - paralyzing a Nascent Soul and dooming anything under such - yet it took a whole batch of this upgraded venom to do the same despite the massive size Midas had leading to a far larger amount of venom being injected. It could be said the only reason the venom worked that well was because the hound was relatively weak to poison while also having it be enhanced; the amount a cultivator carried would never be enough to deal with a Nascent Soul Beast.
As for a human how could their little body ever hold that much venom!
<Hm~ I should name our unique venom and since I am the first of the superior race known as [Golden Eulogy Amphiptere] it only makes sense that I name it after myself and go with [Midas Venom]. Only makes sense to name the perfect venom after the perfect woman after all; it even makes sense based on the history of the name Midas so it’s the perfect name for it ohohoho~!>
Happily laughing to herself as she soon arrived on the ‘beach’ to see how much her little slice of heaven had grown…
It didn’t look like the {Heavenly Realm} at least!
The golden sand had taken on a more brownish hue with the water that was added [Eulogy Oasis Water] and little sprouts of turquoise could be seen. These little blades of turquoise were strongly radiating spirit qi while some very immature tree’s had only just sprouted from their nuts to reach up towards the wrathful giant sun above. The shimmering of qi heavy plants with the golden sands made for a beautiful scene that would make every cultivator cream their pants.
These were stuff she ‘borrowed’ from the three of the four strongest clans - the only reason she didn’t borrow from the other one was because it was the {Deep Ocean Dragon Clan} also known as {Leviathan Clan}. They are technically {Heavenly Beasts} but they are secretive… No, more accurately to say they are quite separated due to being so deep in the ocean that it’s simply awkward to get to them. On top of that their ‘slice of the {Heavenly Realm} happens to be in a little place called {Heavenly Demonic Ocean} which, despite the name which may suggest some kind of border, is the only part of the {Heavenly Realm} that hasn’t been ravaged by Violet!
It’s actually quite funny; they were preparing to wage war with the other gods no matter what happened only for Violet and the Oni to one up them. Literally abandoning all semblance of sanity in a savage charge that couldn’t be contained by life or death. Leviathan and Infinite Mother only learned about the whole thing when Violet was half way through decimating them leaving only the stragglers retreating towards Leviathan as if he would genuinely help them after they imprisoned his best friend and killed his wife… A few waves of his hand and a few more waves of water led to a very quick end to a war on the grandest scale.
Though that is only what happened in the {Heavenly Realm} which very few know about. The {Second Great War} is actually considered to be what occured in the {Mortal Realm} since Mortals are egotistical like that. Unlike Midas who was the most noble and humble character there was out there.
Anyway, because they were deep sea creatures who likely had the highest numbers as well as a vast territory unclaimable by anyone else it was more difficult to ‘borrow’ from them. Or more accurately they were more diverse so more akin to a kingdom thus making it difficult to find something likely guarded that was worth her time; according to Akaibu that is. Midas didn’t actually attempt to make her way there since who would know if she ran into some high-leveled Yang Undead or Demon!
Overlooking the slow but impressive growth of her oasis she couldn’t help but hiss happily while thinking about the fact this is just the start.
<Now with this ready I need to earn some basic cash from the merchants then I’ll take a position in a city. From there I will slowly spread out through monetizing our unique properties; at first it will be making ourselves integral to the {Golden dust Continent} with our Oasis’. After making some simple money from that we’ll move into the true realm of business with the mortals…
After getting sturdy foundations…>
“Shashasha~!” <Midas>
A few critters had made their way towards the barrier but unlike that nascent beast they weren’t as confident in themselves; with that they easily followed the rules she’d put in place. Even the other Core Formation Beasts brought dead beasts in payment and watched them throw those recently killed beasts into the rapidly increasing Oasis water.
Even predator and prey merely looked at eachother with aggression or fear while entering the newly forming holy land. They sat apart while making sure to take a fair distance from the water to take in the surrounding qi - the barrier helping to keep the concentration of qi at an all time high while the plants created high quality. Meanwhile her [Eulogy Gold]’s presence ensured there was not only high purity qi but also gave the ability to help cleanse the body through the all important water. Not only that but ingestion of [Gold Eulogy Qi] wasn’t directly ‘harmful’ as it purified but it was addictive so they would keep coming back. More on that with humans though~!
More beasts came but after a couple hours they left as they were far more honorable than the humans who would attempt to ignore the rules. They knew to return after their eight hours for a beast of a realm under themselves; it was a very fair price all things concerned. They weren’t aware that the beast in charge was a snake with cunning as well as vicious business sense though…
While covered in Midas watched over with pride as the beasts from far and wide took attention of the new monument that had suddenly appeared - her actually curled around the top of her obelisk that made her seem tiny so didn’t even bother with invisibility - the greatest effect wouldn’t be from them… But from the Mortals! As soon as mortals begin to take notice not only will it spread among themselves through the merchants as well as mercs but also the sects as well as the beasts themselves. Everyone knows there are more beasts than humans and which being doesn’t want to get stronger? From hearing the mortals discussing ‘the new holy land’ the beasts will also be attracted to her in order to get stronger.
Though there are some Beast Clans who have gained their humanoid forms they are more territorial than regular mortals so were less likely to find her; the {Desert Hound} was very likely to be the leader of a small clan in charge of this area. Their race hardly grew larger due to the males dominant nature cutting off their own growth rate. The Mortals are far more likely to spread her Oasis around than any of the beasts… Well unless it was a {Spirit Beast} but she was likely the strongest beast on the continent unless the {Gold Dust Branch Imperial Phoenix Academy} was led by a beast not mortal which is far from unbelievable.
The name was quite literal with the ‘Phoenix’.
It may also be that this continent was a popular spot far young [Three Footed Golden Crow] so a decently old crow may be in charge of the school; either way there is no way the school would be her enemy. If anything they would strongarm her into learning there at least. Not to have her side with them but to make sure their own kind didn’t suffer!
The rate in which she grows could be affected quite strongly by how quickly her fellows discovered her but on this continent she was at least sure there was no full-blooded dragon clan. This meant at the very least she had no outrageous dangers as no way the powers on this continent would think about going against the Academy since pretty much all of their outer sects would’ve been formed by those who left the academy. It’s a phoenix-made academy as well so they had to be noble enough to bite the talon that fed them…
The ones in the {Central Cities}?
As if she was afraid of those fools!
In the distance she even spotted something that would make her eyes narrow with pleasure if she had actual eyelids. There was a dust cloud on the horizon with the hazy figures of beasts, humanoids & carts - their distance was still quite far with plenty of dunes between them and the oasis. Her clouds weren’t prepared so she wasn’t in the most ideal position to greet her visitors… But there still was a giant golden obelisk directly between the biggest cities in the center.
