The wind blew, making both Nana’s and Silvia’s hair flutter gently. Their robes swayed back and forth as they looked each other in the eye. “Silvia, I will not hold back!”

“I won’t either!” Silvia replied. Her eyes burned with determination.

Elder Li raised an eyebrow. He did not know why these girls were so fired up for, but it seemed they were going to give them a good fight! “You may begin!”

Both girls did not even draw their weapons but still shot forward. They quickly arrived at the center of the stage, where they suddenly stopped in front of each other. “Best two out of three wins!”

“Okay! But I won’t let you off easily!” Nana snorted as she drew her hand back. This was followed up by Silvia. The two’s actions seemed quite odd. No one who was watching could figure out what was going on except for Yuki, who was giggling away.

“Rock…. Paper…. Scissors!” Both girls yelled out at the same time.

Silvia threw down scissors while Nana threw down paper. “Ahhh! She got me!” Nana flew back as if she had been hit hard and skidded across the ground. Silvia’s lips twitched. She was doing her best not to laugh at this time. 

Elder Nishikawa held her head as she watched the farce on stage. She really wanted to know what went through these girl’s heads! But she kind of understood. If the two really fought and ended up hurt badly, Yuki would not be happy. And since they both prioritized Yuki’s happiness above their own, it was understandable that they would do this. But she had to admit this audience was quite stupid! Why weren’t they cheering when Nana’s acting was the worst!?

“Ummm… what are they doing?” Yuki’s sect master really did not get what was going on.

“Just let them be.” Elder Nishikawa let out a long sigh. She gazed at Yuki, who was rolling on the ground laughing, and shook her head. At least one person was happy.

Once more on the stage, after Nana dusted herself off, the two girls stared each other down. They walked a full circle around each other before stopping and drawing their hands back once more.

“Rock…. Paper…. Scissors!” Both girls yelled out again at the same time.

This time, Nana won with rock, while Silvia went for scissors again. Silvia, like Nana, suddenly launched backward at a great speed and crashed into the ground. She even bit her lip to cause a trickle of blood to form at the corner of her mouth.

The audience did not really understand, but they felt that maybe this rock, paper, scissors mantra was some kind of profound attack that only when certain conditions were met did one of them fly away and take damage. How would they know this was just some kid’s game that Yuki had taught the two? Even some of the disciples at the side were trying to imitate this strange technique.

Elder Li really did not know what to say. Neither girl was actually hurt. Both were in tip top shape and could do this for days if they so wished. But he really could not figure out the point of faking being blasted away!

“We are one and one. This last  one decides it!” Nana shouted righteously. Well, kind of, if not for the fact that Nana was speaking in monotone.

Both girls circled each other once more before finally stopping and drawing their hands back for the third time. They then repeated the magic words before showing their hand! 

“Rock!”

“Rock!”

Both ended up with rock. 

With no other choice, they once more said the magic words before throwing out their hands again. This time, Silvia held up her index finger and middle finger and made a cutting motion with them. Nana pouted as she looked at her extended palm. She had lost! She had really lost! Her alone time with Yuki was stolen by the spider girl!

Silvia walked over and patted her shoulder as she said. “Let me have two days this first week, and then we will each take a day for the next three weeks after. How does that sound?” 

“Okay!” Nana smiled brightly. She could do that! Silvia’s lips curled up into a smile for a second before quickly disappearing. She did not want Nana to be sad, either.

Nana hugged Silvia before turning to look at Elder Li and said: “Ummm. I got knocked out and was defeated brutally by Silvia, so I lost.” With that, Nana walked off the stage without looking back.

Elder Li stood frozen in the air. It was not just him, but then the entire place was dead quiet. It took a minute before everyone realized that they were hoodwinked! 

“What the hell was that!?” 

“What kind of fight was that!?”

“You were knocked out!? When!? Who the fuck gets knocked out and wakes up in the same instant!?”

“Where are the wounds if you were brutally beaten!?”

Many were very dissatisfied with how the final match went.

Elder Li stroked his beard and looked at Silvia, who stood there with her hands behind her head. “Ahem…. Winner Heavenly Cloud Sect’s disciple, Silvia!”
