Yuki could still feel the lightning inside herself and couldn’t help but feel a bit excited. She had gained a very strong trump card. But at the same time, she couldn’t help but feel a little lonely. Sei had left a strand of her consciousness within her and knew she had used that to use her powers here in the mortal realm. Sei did not have to go so far for her, but it seemed her ancestor truly cared a lot about her. 

Elder Nishikawa was checking Yuki over, trying to figure out if anything was wrong with her disciple, only to see that her powers had surged during her breakthrough to the astral star realm. It could even be said she was on par with a late stage twelfth astral star. And the golden tail behind here seemed to have small arches of divine lighting radiating off of it, giving Yuki a natural oppressive aura. “Thank the heavens you are okay….”

“Mmm… Master, my ancestor was the one who helped me.” Yuki could not bring herself to call Sei, Master, in front of her master.

“It’s good that she did. I was unable to stop such divine lightning. Even with the sect master’s help, I was unable to do anything.”  Elder Nishikawa felt guilty. If she had unleashed her powers, she could have done something, but luckily, before she did, her ancestor was able to help her.

“Master….” Yuki was slightly worried. She looked around to see an old man not standing too far away. She quickly curled her tails around her, trying to hide. She was a demonic cultivator and a celestial fox. If she was not careful, she would be hunted down.

“Don’t worry.” Elder Nishikawa knew Yuki was worried. “The sect master knows everything. He has known since you came to the sect.”

“Huh?” Yuki was very confused. How did the sect master know!?

“Little fox, do not look down on this old man. I am not the sect master of the sect for no reason.” The sect master floated down and stood in the air next to them all. “I have been fighting against demonic cultivators for many years. I am not so old that I would not be able to detect one of low cultivation. I knew the moment you stepped into the sect, but Elder Nishikawa took you in. I trust her judgment. She would not take a demonic cultivator in if they were not good. Plus, you are a special case. You cultivate both demonic qi and spiritual qi. As such, instead of letting you fall to a path of darkness, is it not better for you to stay here and cultivate earnestly under your master?”

Yuki was stunned for a moment before bowing her head. “Thank you, Sect Master, for overlooking this….”

“If it was anyone else, I would have outright killed you. But you have changed my perception of some demonic cultivators. They might not all be so bad. Anyway, I will be heading back. I need to do a bit of cleaning up.” The sect master went to leave but paused and turned to Yuki once more: “Disciple Yuki, my disciple Haruhi will come see you tomorrow. Now that you and Disciple Nana have reached the astral realm, I would like the three of you to take on a mission. You can use this mission to consolidate your new realm. It’s not good to power through cultivation levels just because you can. Strength is not just cultivation alone but your prowess in your techniques as well. If they lag behind, then you will not be able to win a fight against someone of the same realm, never mind someone above your realm.”

“I will do as you say, sect master.” Yuki knew there was no way to say no. She even glanced at Elder Nishikawa, who gave her a slight nod.

“Good. Don’t worry. The assignment will not be too hard. But take this time to experience more of the outside world.” The sect master was giving Yuki and Nana a special mission. His disciple was only going to surprise and to make sure they came back alive. But other than that, she would not help during the mission.

After the sect master left, Elder Nishikawa sighed and placed her hand on top of Yuki’s head. “Thank you for pulling through.” After pausing for a moment, she stopped and said: “This mission is a mission you will need to do no matter what. It is something all inner sect disciples will need to go through when they reach the astral realm. As for the mission details….. You will find out. But the sect master was right. Work hard to improve your techniques. When you get back, you will be able to go to the treasure pavilion once more to get some new techniques. I will be sure to at least make it so you can get two free techniques each from the top floor.”

“Mmm.” Yuki hummed as she stood up. She knew her master was trying to help them grow stronger. “Let’s go check on N….”

“Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuukkkkkkkkiiiii!!!!!” Nana’s voice filled the air as she pounced toward Yuki. Yuki was stunned at the beauty in front of her. Nana had grown up, too! And she looked like a supermodel! It was unfair! Yuki was depressed as she saw Nana’s mounds bouncing as she hurried over. It kind of urked her that her boobs had hardly grown while her Nana had become an amazon woman!
