“Cough! Cough!” Elder Shoji held his neck and stumbled backward in fear. He did not want to die yet. He did not wish to let that bitch win by him dying here.

Haruhi narrowed her eyes and pursed her lips when she heard her master’s voice in her ear. She did not know why he was steeling her to let this idiot go, but since it was his order, she released her pressure allowing the old idiot to breathe once more. 

Elder Shoji gasped for air, his face red. He looked at Haruhi, then at Yuki and Nana, and gritted his teeth, “You will pay for this!”

“Pay for what?” Haruhi floated down and landed between Yuki and Elder Shoji. “You can not touch these two anymore. Master has said that if you do this one more time, you will be punished by the sect’s most server rules. I believe you understand what I am talking about.”

Elder Shoji knew exactly what this meant. This meant that he would be crippled and tossed into the Dark Forest to be fed to the demonic beasts. It was not a quick death. He glared at Yuki and Nana before flicking his sleeve and leaving. Before, he did not have any lasting grudges against Yuki and Nana, but now he did. He had wanted to use the girls to get to their master but now he wanted to get rid of the girls as well. As he walked away he realized he could not deal with things on his own. He would need to make contact with the Roaring Thunder Sect. Only then would he be able to deal with things here. He quickly made his way back to his immortal cave as he made new plans to finish things.

Seeing Elder Shoji leave Haruhi pursed her lips and turned to the two girls. “You two….” Haruhi shook her head before suddenly bursting out laughing. “Hahaha! To think you would draw your sword first before even listening to what he had to say! Too funny. I knew you two would be interesting.”

“Senior Sister Haruhi it is not because he asked us to do him a favor but because he had already attacked Yuki once. Because of him, Yuki almost died.” Nana hated the fact that the old man was once more allowed to roam free. She wished he could just be killed now so things could be done and over with.

“Well, do not let this incident get to you. That old man is not getting away with things easily. Master has plans, so for now, just be careful and don’t leave the sect for the time being.” Haruhi sighed as she looked at the two girls. She had heard that they had a rough time on their first mission since they ran into a rank five demonic beast. Yuki even lost a finger trying to escape. It was tough for such a young girl to already have such a wound. After a moment’s thought, Haruhi said: “If you girls run into trouble and are unable to handle it yourself, come find me at my immortal cave near the main peak’s peak. I will do what I can to help. I need to go. Master is calling me.” 

Haruhi waved her hand at the two girls and flew off. She disappeared just as quickly as she had arrived. Yuki sighed as she scratched her head. “We forgot to thank her.”

“We can thank her the next time we see her. Yuki, we should head to the Dragon Tower before we waste any more time.” Nana disliked other girls getting close to Yuki. She was quite the possessive type when it came to things that were hers. She did not tell Yuki this, but dragonkin were a race that only ever had one mate their entire lives and were very protective of them as well. This meant that If Yuki ever tossed her aside or died, she would never have another mate. Even if Yuki were to find a new love, she would still be alone for the rest of her life. This was something that was ingrained in their being. 

Yuki looked at the dragon girl who was trying to hurry them along and smiled. She could tell that Nana was wary of Haruhi for some reason. She giggled and hooked her arm around Nana’s, and said: “Let’s go!”

Yuki pulled Nana along as they made their way to the tower. When they arrived, they got their tokens and entered the tower heading to the third floor as they had gone to before. This time no one bothered them as they took up a spot near the center of the room where the spiritual qi was the densest. There were already three people taking up the best spot, so they could only get a spot near there.

Yuki and Nana cultivated back to back. Using each other as a support. Normally a cultivator would not want anyone touching them when they cultivate as it might cause them to be disturbed, but this was just how much the two girls were used to each other’s existence. Even if one of them moved, it would not disturb the other unless they were called out to. This was just how deep the trust they had for one another was.

The two cultivated undisturbed until their time ran out. They had only registered for eight hours. Yuki’s inner clock was so good that she opened her eyes ten minutes before it was time to leave. This way, they would not be ejected out of the tower.

After a productive cultivation session, Yuki and Nana returned to their immortal cave for the night, where they would once more start cultivating, but this time, it would be dual cultivation.
