Creating Worlds

Legend Of Yuki: The Wrath Of The Tailed Asura

18 years stuck in a hospital bed, always taken care of by those around her. Sick all her life Yuki finally passed away. What she did not expect was to be reborn as a fox girl? A world of cultivation. A world where might makes right.Yuki will need to learn to survive in this new world. Will she be able…

Magic?

“These Serpents of Time are low in numbers, but just one of them can probably take this continent over. And the only reason is because of the powers they wield.” Delia continued.

“Unlike cultivation techniques, these people can wield the elements at will without needing to cultivate. Their power structure is also unique since they can easily, with practice become better at their powers. Each technique I guess I should explain it, comes from their imagination. As long as they have a good visual image in their heads, they can change their techniques at will.”

“Wait…. Isn’t this just magic?” Yuki asked. Everything Delia explained was just like the concept of magic from Earth.

“I can’t really call it magic. While it does seem like that, the elements are a bit strange. It’s like they are time for the targets they kill. I have seen people die who had loved ones nearby to one of these cultists only to have the person who was just cheering them on change the subject and forget about the person completely.

“It’s strange and yet scary at the same time. If any of us were to be erased by these people’s techniques, then we would forget about that person instantly. This thought scares me.” Delia couldn’t help but shiver at the idea of forgetting about Yuki.

“But more than that, these spells are powerful. I mean, it takes a cultivator many years to blow up a mountain top. But a young girl under the age of ten could do the same if she was a genius. This is just how scary they are. I have not found a way to block their attacks. Any time I have encountered one, I have had to run away with the fear of being erased once dead.”

“Delia, you say they can control the elements, right?” Yuki asked to make sure.

“Yes. They can use all of the elements, including space-time. The man who can use space-time seems to be their current leader. I do try to keep track of them, but it is hard. They have no home to speak of. They wander around the mortal world doing this and that. What evil acts they do, I do not know since I have never been able to get close enough to ask such questions.” Delia answered.

“Then what if we did the same?” Yuki had been wondering this since she realized that she could use an element now, which was lightning. What if they could use these same elements to create magic spells like the Serpents Of Time?

“I have tried, but maybe my mental image was not good enough,” Delia replied while scratching her head.

“Well, what about someone like me?” Yuki held up her hand and produced a ball of lightning. “I can shape my lightning as I see fit. It’s as if it has become one with my body. I have no idea how powerful their magic truly is, but if I can make a variation using spiritual qi and demonic qi, wouldn’t that work as well? We just need to use it as a source of creating the elements we want to create a kind of magic as well.

“Think about it. There are wind, fire, earth, and water based techniques. All of which use one or more elements. These techniques were all created in the same sense as magic. So Delia, myself, and everyone here is able to create an element out of thin air we just never tried since the current system is technique based with cultivation.” Yuki’s words made everyone stare at her in shock, mainly because she couldn’t be any more right!

The whole idea of techniques that they use is created by others who have the imagination and know how to do it. So, if they were able to use this thought process and begin creating their own spells using the energy source that ruins this world, then they would be able to match a Serpent of Time without any issue. But the key here is figuring out how it works.

“Delia, if I may ask, why are there so few of these serpents? I would think that they would have taken the world over without issue, no?” Selene was still at the beginning. While she was very interested in what Yuki had just said, this point still bothered her the most.

“Ah! Right, I did not explain. The thing is, the Serpents did try to take over at one point. But this is where things get strange. Something not from the mortal realm fought them off and forced them into their current situation. It’s very strange. I still do not know what forced them to retreat and become an existence such as a cult.” Delia never did figure this point out. She wished she could get some kind of information from the serpents themselves, but they would rather die than speak.

“Wait, then what about the men Yuki killed?” Nana suddenly cut in. “Why did they not use this so called magic on her?”

“Because they were nothing but mere guards. They are just there to guard the place, and they will get free cultivation resources. Resources that the serpents don’t even need. In other words, they will never show their face unless you stumble upon them like we did. It won’t be easy to deal with them. They are masters of their craft, after all.”
