Nana did not say a word. She just stroked the top of Yuki’s head while hugging her almost as if she was trying to console a child. Yuki on the other hand wanted to know why she was being treated like a child!

Haruhi was not offended as she watched Nana being protective of her dao partner. “Anyway.” She decided to get to the reason why she was here. She turned to Nana and Yuki. “Master has asked me to ask you not to challenge Gi-chan. I saw Gi-chan’s grandfather go and speak with the sect master last night. So I believe he had made such a request. Although, what I am asking is also a request as well. To make up for it, you can challenge, Junior Brother Yoshi. He is known but not really known.

“In fact, he is a scar on our sect not just because he was let in through the back door, but because he is no stronger than Gi-chan and is unable to up his cultivation no matter how many resources have been thrown at him and as of late, he has been sending people out to bring young girls back to his immortal cave. I do not think I need to say more.” Haruhi explained.

“Wait! Are you talking about Playboy Oshi? That bastard is in the inner sect!? I always see him in the outer sect!” Fatty would have never thought that his information would be so wrong! He had not even thought about this man because he was always in the outer sect hitting on girls.

“He likes to prey,” Haruhi’s expression was not good as she spoke. “I have beaten him up quite a few times. He does not even care about what the girl’s age is he will just hit on them. But he is smart in a way as well. Since he only hits on the ones with bad cultivation. He will then promise them resources in return for favors.” 

“So he’s a monster?” Yuki asked. Haruhi and Fatty both nodded. 

“So if I challenge him, how badly can I beat him without his backer coming after me?” Nana asked. She wanted to give this person a good beating with the flat side of her blade.

“Don’t worry. I will protect you if anything happens. My authority is only second to Elder Nishikawa’s and Master’s.” Haruhi would never make this promise lightly. If she said she could protect Nana from repercussions, then she would be able to do it easily.

“Then I will do as you ask. This Doshi guy seems to need a good beating.” Nana nodded. She would rather beat someone up who deserved it than fight someone who did not deserve it. 

“Umm… Nana, his name is Yoshi.” Fatty found it funny that Nana had already forgotten the man’s name.

“Moshi, Roshi, it’s all the same.” Nana still did not say his name right. This caused everyone to laugh. 

“Then I thank you in advance. I will tell my Master that you said you would not challenge Gi-chan. He is one of the most hardworking inner sect disciples, so I hope when the two of you join the inner sect, you will be able to make friends with him.” Haruhi smiled as she stood up. She looked at Yuki, who was snuggled into Nana’s chest, and felt maybe it was time for her to settle down as well and find a dao partner of her own. 

A cultivator’s life span was long. When they fell in love, it was for life. She had no idea who she would ever feel this way for, but for now, she figured she should slow down her hobby of taking in cute girls. Haruhi bowed to everyone before saying: “I wish you good luck.”

After she left, Yuki and Nana chatted with Fatty and the rest for a while before they heard the sect master’s voice. “Everyone, gather at the battle stages in ten minutes!” 

Everyone stood up and did as they were told. In a matter of a few minutes, the seats and the battle stage were already surrounded.  The sect master stood on top of it and looked at the outer sect disciples and the inner sect disciples and knew things would be interesting. “You all know today is the day that outer sect disciples can challenge the inner sect disciples. As Disciple Nana and Disciple Yuki have come in first and second, they will get to start off the challenges. After that, it is whoever jumps on stage first. If an outer sect disciple wins, they will take over that inner sect disciple’s spot. The inner sect disciple will then become an outer sect disciple. 

“You may think I am being harsh when I say this, but we do not have time or the resources to continue nurturing disciples who are just not making the cut. From now on, any outer sect disciple may issue a challenge to an inner sect disciple, and that inner sect disciple must fight. There will be no more rejecting challenges as it was in the past. The results of the fight will also reflect on the rules I am setting today. If you, an inner sect disciple, loses, you will be thrown to the outer sect. I wish you all good luck! Disciple Nana, please come to the stage!” The sect master finished his speech before calling Nana up.

Nana jumped up without any hesitation before yelling out: “I challenge Senior Dushi!”

Yuki held her head. Nana forgot the guy’s name again!
