The Asura’s True Awakening Part 3

“Hey, can someone explain to me what just happened!?” Haruhi was confused. She had not even activated the teleportation array yet, and they were now sitting on a mountaintop.

“We were sent here by an old man,” Nana explained softly. Blood dripping from her lip due to her biting it. She was separated from Yuki. She had to find her way back. But she did not even know where she was!

“Nana, if you dig your palms any more, you will end up crippling your hands.” Silvia came over and held Nana’s hand, prying it open. Selene did the same to her other hand.

“Silv is right. Right now, we need to understand where we are. Once we know our exact location, then we can begin searching for Yuki.” Selene did not like it either. Something was wrong with Yuki. It was as if her entire being had changed. While she had a bright smile on her face as she sucked in the souls of her enemies, Selene caught a glimpse of loneliness. It was as if she knew her life was about to change. Selene did not know why, but that expression pained her. It was not a look that Yuki should have.

“Yuki…” Nana’s lips began to quiver. Tears began to stream down her face. “Yuki!”

Silvia and Selene watched as Nana fell to the ground and hugged her knees as she cried. It was the first time Silvia had ever seen Nana like this. She knew Nana’s world revolved around Yuki but she never thought it would be this bad.

Selene bit her lip before stepping forward and wrapping her tail around Nana. “It might not be much, but for now, use my tail to calm your nerves. Just pretend it is Yuki’s tail.”

Nana felt the warm fluff surround her but did not react. It did not smell like Yuki and was not as soft as Yuki’s fluff. But she understood Selene was doing this to make her feel better, so she did not brush the tail away.

Haruhi looked at the three girls and wanted to try to help Nana, but she had her hands full with the other disciples. Luckily, the elders had also been transported with them.

“Little Sect Leader, what should we do now?” One of the great elders asked.

“For now, we will camp out here until we figure out where we are. Only when we figure this out will we be able to plan our next move.” Haruhi took a deep breath. She was doing her best to stay as calm as possible. She was also worried about her Master as well. Everything happened so fast that her mind was still spinning. “Take a head count as well. We need to know how many disciples were lost.”

“I will send two elders out to take a look at the surrounding area and will do the head count personally.” The great elder replied before turning around to execute his task. All the elders were dedicated to the sect. None of them complained about what needed to be done, especially in this time of need.

“Hahaha! Die! Die! Die!” Bloody winds wrapped around Yuki as she continued her slaughter. Her body seemed out of her control. Her mind was racing, hoping she was not harming any of the disciples from the sect. She did not wish to harm those she was trying to protect. But her own body was not listening. She felt as if she was under the control of bloodlust and wanted nothing more than to kill everything sight.

“Don’t let it consume you, Little Fox.” A voice entered her head. Yuki’s mind was split in two at the moment. Her normal self and her crazed self who only sought to slaughter. “If you can control it, you will be able to pass the last step and awaken the true powers of the asura.”

“Control it….” Yuki felt a shift in her body. “I need to control it…. Hehe…. Embrace it…. Control it…. Hahaha… Become one with it…. Die…. I just need to….”

Yuki’s body swayed, but her aura continued its slaughter. “Control….. Kill….  Become one…. Together…. Kill…. Enemies…. Hahaha!”

It was as if two Yuki’s were talking. But the more they talked, the more their voices merged to the point that it was as if they were overlapping, saying different words. “Work…. Kill…. Togeturder…”

“We are one….” Yuki’s body trembled, and the air suddenly grew still. Everything stopped moving. Whether it was her aura, the enemy disciples, or the bloody rain that fell from the sky, all of it froze as if time itself had stopped. “As one, we can do more. As one, we can grow stronger. We can bring hell to our enemies… As one….”

Yuki’s mind slowly began to merge with the other. One of her eyes turned golden in color while the other stayed a crimson red. Her hair returned to its white color but now had a glimmer of red as light passed through it. Yuki’s lips curled up into a small smile. “Together, we are one. Together, we are stronger. I should embrace both sides. I finally understand…. Only by embracing both sides and merging them together can a true asura awaken….”

*Boooom!!!!!*

A blackish-red bolt of lightning fell from the sky and struck Yuki without warning, but Yuki only stood there even as her robes began to burn away. Her smile widened as she looked up at the sky. “Come! Come! And Release the chains that bind me in this mortal world!”

*Boooom!!!!!*
