After Elder Nishikawa left Yuki and Nana moved back to the bedroom and sat on the bed. “To think there were so many realms….”  Yuki never thought that she would find out about more cultivation realms so soon. She thought she was doing good on her cultivation but now it was just… “I am still so weak….”

“No, we have just started out. Yuki, we can not rush cultivation or we could end up being unable to reach higher levels. When I was young my father told me that cultivation was a path that one had to tread one step at a time. There were no shortcuts. Cultivation speed was one thing but that did not mean you could become a powerhouse in a short amount of time.” Nana hugged Yuki’s waist as she leaned her head against her shoulder. “We can do things one step at a time together.”

“Sounds like you are proposing.” Yuki joked as she slipped her hands around Nana’s waist. Nana was always so concerned about her. It made her feel safe at all times when Nana was around. She wondered if she would have come out of her shell if it was not for Nana. It seemed she owed Nana more than just a few lives.

“Then that is what it is. We will get married and dance in the blood of our enemies.” Nana joked. She felt secure when feeling Yuki’s warmth. The warmth that had allowed her to no longer be alone.

“Blood will stick to my tail so I will pass.” Yuki leaned back on the bed pulling Nana with her. The two turned to their sides with their hands around each other’s waists pressing their bodies against one another. Their eyes locking on the others. The silence of the night seemed peaceful as they took in each other’s warmth.
 
Nana reached up and brushed a bit of Yuki’s hair away from her cheek before gently stroking Yuki’s cheek with her finger. Yuki felt a tingle run through her body that she had never felt before which made her blush slightly. She did not hate Nana’s touch but it did make her shy. She stared into Nana’s eyes as Nana’s finger traced across her lips. “Nana?”

“Hmm? Sorry. You are too cute sometimes…” Nana reluctantly pulled her hand back and rested it back on Yuki’s waist. 

“Nana is cute all the time.” Yuki grinned and she copied Nana’s movements just now. Nana’s cheeks turned red. She had not thought much about it until Yuki had done it back to her. But now she realized that it was indeed kind of embarrassing. 

Yuki liked the innocent Nana as she moved her head closer and pressed her forehead against Nana’s. “We will get through all of this together, right?”

“Mm…. The two of us will become the strongest and get revenge for our clans. After that, we can do whatever we want together after that.” Nana replied. She angled her head slightly so that now both her and Yuki’s noses were touching. They could feel each other’s breath as they stared into each other’s eyes. Yuki was not dumb. The current situation was not that of friends or sisters. They were currently hugging with their bodies pressed up against each other with their noses touching. She could see the love in Nana’s eyes.

Yuki had read many romance novels while lying in bed. But she had never thought she would be in this kind of situation with another girl. A girl who she thought of as her sister and best friend no less. But she also did not hate this closeness. She could feel her heart pounding. She could also feel Nana’s heart pounding. She wondered if this was right. She wondered if she should follow through or if she should wait for Nana to make the first move. 

Yuki adjusted her hands and brought them up to Nana’s back, tracing her fingers ever so slightly as she did. Nana seemed to be hesitating slightly. She had no idea what had come over her. She felt like she wanted to steal Yuki’s lips. While she had pressed her lips against them before, it was only because she had to save Yuki’s life using her blood. If she did this now it would be no different than two lovers kissing one another. She knew she said a joke earlier about marrying one another but that was just a joke. But now….. “Yuki….”

Yuki heard Nana’s soft questioning call of her name and smiled slightly before saying: “It’s fine. If it’s Nana it’s fine.”

That was all that needed to be said. Nana lowered her face more and the two’s lips touched. Their eyes closed as their lips parted and their tongues intertwined. Their first kiss was sweet and filled with the care and love they had for one another. They were both now realizing just how much they cherished the other. It was a clumsy kiss as it was both of their first kisses ever but to them, it was a kiss they would never forget and would look back on. 

As their lips parted, they looked into each other’s eyes once more, their lips curling up into smiles. Yuki hugged Nana tightly as she rolled Nana over and laid on top of her pushing her head into Nana’s neck.  With her mouth next to Nana’s ear she softly whispered: “I guess this means we are stuck with each other forever.”

“I never planned to leave you anyway,” Nana whispered back while hugging Yuki even tighter than before. She felt like her heart was going to explode. She had actually kissed Yuki in a romantic way! But she also felt relief. The feelings that had been building up inside her had finally been able to come forward. She now understood that she truly loved Yuki. Not as a friend or sister, but as a lover.

“Good.” Yuki kissed Nana’s neck before closing her eyes. “I will sleep here tonight.”

    Nana chuckled and turned her head towards Yuki and gave her a peck on the lips. “Then I get to hug you all night.”

“Mm…. Don’t let me go.” Yuki mumbled softly before falling fast asleep. 

Nana could hear Yuki’s steady breathing and knew she was asleep. Before falling asleep herself, Nana whispered: “I am glad I met you.”
