“Yes, their souls are sucked out, but only a tiny bit at a time. As they progress in their cultivation they will also strengthen their souls as well which repairs some of the damage but not enough to really save them. Those with strong souls will not see the effects until a much higher realm unless they are killed off first.

“The ramblings that I read talked about a being that resides deep underground or maybe residing in a hidden realm that is connected to this one. The person did not seem sure about this, but from what the writing texts said, in ancient times, this realm actually had no one living here. No spiritual qi no demonic qi. Only forests filled with normal animals.” Selene began. It had been a long time since she had been able to talk about things like this with others, so she was actually very much enjoying this moment.

“No spiritual qi or demonic qi. This seems hard to take in.” Delia was the one to speak up. She found it hard to believe that this plane once had nothing but trees and animals.

“Yes. I thought so as well. But if what the texts say is true, then it must be. This plane was nothing but a plane that had nothing worth mentioning. 

“But one day, a tear in space formed. A powerful person flew out. This person stood hundreds of meters tall and crashed into the land below, creating the oceans we see today that split our continent and the others from the mainland. The but this man was not alone….” 

“Wait, before you continue, I am confused. So, the world only had one continent at one time? Is that what they meant?” Yuki asked.

“I can only guess. Over time, I am sure they formed and separated from one another as well. I flew up into the air as far as I could when I found this out true, but I am not sure if it is my mind that is playing tricks on me or what, but there does seem to be a kind of human-shaped imprint in the ground. Kind of like when you flop down in the snow and stand back up.” Selene explained. She was doing her best to answer the questions based on what knowledge she had learned.

“Don’t continue. I want to take a look myself.” Yuki suddenly stood up and jumped into the air. She was followed by Nana, Delia, and Silvia. Selene also followed after she realized what they were doing.

They continued going up into the sky. Even as the air grew thin, they still continued higher and higher until they could finally get a good look at the land below. “Selene, you were not seeing things. There really is an imprint of a human-shaped figure.”

It was a little rough due to the wear and tear of time, but there was definitely an outline of a body where the water was. “This is really crazy!” Delia cried out. She had not heard of any of this, and she was the oldest one here!

“Seems that these texts do have some creditability.” Nana was very surprised.

“I am glad you are seeing what I am seeing. I chose to believe the texts because I saw the imprint. But I have always second guessed myself. So it gives me some relief to know that I am not the only one who sees it.” Selene smiled softly. The others could not see since she was not facing them, but she was happy to be able to share these things with others.

The girls all flew back down and sat in a circle. Nana started a small fire so they could have something to look at as they listened to Selene. “The figure who fell as no alone. Three others appeared here, and a fight began. The mountains to the east are said to be created by one of the figures being kicked down and sliding against the ground digging up the rocks and earth.

“Some of the lakes were created by their footprints. The great canyons that are so deep it is impossible to see the bottom were formed by their swords. The figure who fell fought and fought until the three other figures cornered the first figure. With no other choice, the figure who fell sealed themselves away. The other three figures could not break open the seal, so they had no choice but to leave. It seemed that these figures did not close the tear to this plane and left it open, allowing the spiritual qi and demonic qi from the tear to filter into this world.

“After many millions of years this plane had finally started generating its own spiritual qi and demonic qi. The animals that lived in the forest began to change. They became demonic beasts.” Selene stopped her explanation as she took out a flask from her space pouch and took a sip. She had to wet her throat from all the talking.  

“Okay, so that is how demonic beasts formed, but what about the humans and other races? What about why demonic cultivators use such evil cultivation methods.” Yuki sounded off a barrage of questions.

“That is where things get really interesting…..”
