Legend Of Yuki: The Wrath Of The Tailed Asura
The History Of The Mortal Plane Part 2
“From what I understand, humans did come from demonic beasts. The texts stated that a certain kind of demonic beast created humans. Just like how we mystic races were created from demonic beasts who took on human forms and mated with humans. Such a thing should not be possible, but it is because humans are, in fact, a demonic beast variation.” Selene’s words stunned everyone there. The fact that humans came from demonic beasts was not something they could have ever imagined.
Yuki felt like maybe this was very much the case. Demonic beasts have evolved over time so have humans. On Earth humans also evolved from a life form that slowly evolved into a human. “This is very plausible.”
“Oh? Why do you say that?” Selene was very curious as to why Yuki would think this was not made up.
“Yuki is right. It’s not widely known, but all creations have changed over time. A kind of evolution. If humans came from demonic beasts, then it is highly plausible that this is the case. They may even have had demonic cores at one point. But something must have changed them… Something happened during their evolution process over the years that gave humans a dantian.” It was not Yuki who answered but Delia.
Delia’s words shocked her more than Selene’s, only because Delia was speaking more in terms of actual science. This thought alone planted a seed in Yuki’s heart. A thought that she never thought would be possible until now.
“That is also what the texts said.” Selene was quite surprised. “The texts said that humans did indeed have a demonic core. The same as all demonic beasts. But the entity that was sealed sent out a wave of power. It did not affect anything but the humans that had just started developing. Their cores suddenly burst and reformed creating the dantians that they have now.
“While this might seem good, it was not. The humans were left with no way to cultivate. Before, they could naturally take in demonic qi, but now they could not. They were stuck without any means of growing stronger, leaving them so weak that the demonic beasts they used to hunt for food were now able to kill them with ease.
“But when humans were on the verge of being fully killed off, something happened. The first cultivation method suddenly appeared in the minds of humans. It allowed them not to take in spiritual qi but demonic qi.” Selene paused to take a breath. She had not talked this much in such a long time. She did not think she would enjoy it this much.
“So demonic qi was the first thing humans took in which is natural since they used to take it in anyways due to having a core before.” Silvia pondered on this. She was very surprised that this was the case.
“Yes, while humans were able to grow stronger over time. It seemed that a few humans discovered they could change the cultivation method a little to take in the white strands of qi in the air. This was probably not within the expectations of the being. Especially since the method to take in spiritual qi quickly spread. There seemed to be more abundance of spiritual qi than there was demonic qi. And that was when things changed.
“ The texts stated that the first evil cultivation method suddenly appeared in a few of the demonic cultivators’ minds. While humans were once more flourishing, they were also starting to fight amongst themselves. Strength had become law. And a method to grow stronger quicker appeared.
“I was missing bits of pieces of the texts, so I did not know any more than that, but as you can see, spiritual qi has become the dominant cultivation style while demonic qi is now seen as evil. It traces back to the time when cultivation and even humans started in this world. But everything points to that one being who sealed itself. I believe they are the key and are also the cause of the evil cultivation that is sucking their souls from them. I believe that being is using the souls as a means to gain strength.” Selene let out a sigh. She still had a lot of work ahead of her.
“I understand all of that, but wouldn’t the tear still be opened? And why are there now higher planes? There are so many unanswered questions.”Yuki hated the fact that the texts did not explain more. It annoyed her. It was like reading a story all the way to its final climax, only for the author to drop it. It was too much of a big tease.
“I wish I could answer those questions myself,” Selene replied, sighing once more.
“Now I am aggravated. Selene, let me punch you!” Yuki dived at Selene, and the two once more began fighting.
Nana and Silvia both watched with mouths open while Delia smiled at the fox girl. While Nana and Silvia did not understand why Yuki loved fighting with Selene, they could tell she was enjoying herself even when she was getting hit in the face. The smile on both girls faces showed that they were having fun.
Delia sat there staring at Yuki with a warm smile. She wondered if Yuki picked up on anything just now. She did hope her words might have flipped a switch inside Yuki.
