Legend Of Yuki: The Wrath Of The Tailed Asura
Treasure Pavilion Part 1
Muda clenched his fists. He did not understand how the hell this fat bastard was able to get so friendly with the girls by doing nothing but jiggle his stomach. He glared at Fatty and yelled: “Don’t get carried away, Fatty! It’s not like they actually like you. You will never get any girls who are that beautiful.”
“Huh? Useless, when did I ever say that I wanted them to like me like that? I just wanted to be friends. You see, I am very picky about the people I make friends with. Mainly because if I am not careful, I will end up with useless friends whose own parents understood that their child would grow up to be useless, so they went ahead and named their son Muda.” Fatty’s wide grin was very hateful to those at who it was directed at.
“Tch! Fatty, don’t let me catch you outside the sect!” Muda yelled before stomping off in anger. Fatty found it highly amusing as he held his belly and laughed without shame.
As Muda walked away and Fatty calmed down, he looked at Muda’s treating back and sneered. “Don’t think just because I am fat that I am weak.” Fatty stretched his arms and looked up at the sky. “I wonder if those girls will follow my advice. If they are able to find that technique, then the short one might be able to use it.”
Fatty’s information network was nothing to laugh at. He specialized in gathering information. He used his ability to rank up contribution points. This allowed him to progress smoothly in his cultivation without needing to do too many missions. But the reason Fatty was being so kind to the two girls was because he felt they were worthy of befriending. He would never give out information for free, even to the other beautiful girls of the sect. He would never give up a chance to make some profit.
Nana and Yuki came across as people he could really make good friends with. He was never wrong about people. He had always had a good eye on who he should make friends with. This kept the people around him mostly acquaintances. “Well… If they find it they find it. Now off to cultivate.”
Yuki and Nana walked through the sect, looking at the different items lined up on the sides. The main path was filled with stalls. Disciples would try to sell the things they found while out on missions. It would be stupid to go out on a mission and not take things that could be sold off later on, either to the sect or to other disciples. From herbs, pills, and even some weapons, many things were being sold. Some desperate for contribution points would even have techniques laid out in front of them, hoping to sell them off to get something better.
It was not like you would find any ancient treasures here. Such things would be sold off to the sect. So it was all just simple things that would be easy to get if you worked a little for it. But sometimes, you could find some semi rare herbs or a unique technique created by a family clan.
Luckily for the two girls who did not like to talk much, they did not need to ask for directions to the treasure pavilion. They could just follow the signs posted at the path intersections to make their way to their destination.
The treasure pavilion was a building three stories high. It was one of the few buildings made of wood in the entire sect. Its unique asian aesthetics made the building stand out. Yuki found the red painted building similar to the ones she had seen in pictures back on Earth. The door looked to be made of some kind of green metal. What kind of metal it was, Yuki did not know. But it was a large double door and looked big enough for even a large demonic beast to go through. The doors were not closed but wide open, so the two girls walked right in.
When they entered, there was a desk sitting only a few feet away from them. Behind the desk was an old man reading a scroll while leaning back in his chair and his feet propped up on the desk. When he felt the presence of the two girls, he lowered the scroll and looked at them. “Bring your tokens here.”
Yuki and Nana walked over and presented the tokens they had gotten before. They did not understand how he knew they had tokens, though. The old many looked at the tokens and nodded his head. “You can each take an earth technique from the third floor. If you want anything else, weapons or other techniques, you will need to pay for them yourself using contribution points. Don’t bother me if you are not signing out. And don’t even think of trying to steal anything. This place is set up with an array making it impossible to remove anything from the building without checking them out first. Now go.”
The old man shooed the two girls away. He went right back to reading his scroll. Nana and Yuki looked at each other before shrugging and walking off. “Yuki, do you think Fatty’s words were true?”
“We will only know if we look. He did say that this was something that he had only heard about. So even he was not one hundred percent sure.” Yuki replied in a low whisper. Nana nodded as the two began walking up the stairs heading towards the third floor.
