War

The Roaring Thunder Sect’s sect master was using all of his willpower not to attack the damn woman. “Old bastard. If you do not want to start a war here and now, then you better tell that woman to stop talking, or else we will become enemies.”

“Then let’s become enemies. Old Fang, I have always given you a lot of face over the years, but you do not seem to understand the concept of just keeping the status quo. Do nothing. I do not know what you are up to. Even now, you are plotting and planning on how to take my sect down. But I will not allow it. Since you wish to plan things behind closed doors, then I will say here and now. From the moment we leave the Holyland’s domain, we will be enemies. There will no longer be any going back.”  Yukie’s sect master’s eyes were cold as he stared at the Roaring Thunder Sect’s sect master. He had known this day would come at some point, so instead of having to deal with things in the shadows, he felt it was better to make things clear now.

The Roaring Thunder Sect’s sect master eyes widened. He had only said that out of anger. His sect was nowhere near powerful enough to take out the Heavenly Cloud Sect. Not to mention, his own allies would not fully back him up yet. But he also knew he could not sit here and say nothing. He had no choice but to accept the situation. “Heh… Since that is the case, we will fight to the death. The West Wind Kingdom can not have two kings any longer.”

“Then so be it.” Yuki’s sect master snorted, flicked his sleeve, and pointed to the door of their area. “Enemies and their cronies need to leave, or else I do not mind starting a blood bath here.”

“Humph! As if I would want to stay here!” The Roaring Thunder Sect’s sect master snorted back as he turned to leave. But his words made no sense since he had already been sitting here for a few days now.

After the Roaring Thunder Sect’s sect master and his people left, Yuki’s sect master sat down and looked at Elder Nishikawa. “Is this what you wanted?”

“It’s better this way. They have a grudge against us and even more so on Yuki and Nana. Those people are all petty people and will hold grudges. We can only hope we can pull through.” Elder Nishikawa answered.

“That is true, but if they were to all combine, we would not have an easy time.” Yuki’s sect master knew how hard it would be to defend against so many sects, even if they were all small.

“Don’t worry. We have capable disciples. When we get back, have all outer sect disciples in the Fate star realm stay in the sect. Only astral star and above should be allowed out. Set up a notice that all of the Roaring Thunder Sect’s members are now on a hit list. Anyone who brings back tokens from their bodies will gain an extra ten contribution points. Once we have shored up our defenses, we can then do a full scale attack.

“War is not pretty, nor is it fun. But they have been targeting us for a long time. If we do not stand firm now and make a preemptive strike, we will end up losing.”  Elder Nishikawa was worried about insiders the most. She did not want to end up with her disciples getting sneak attacked by people who should have been friends.

“Okay, we will go with your plans.” Yuki’s sect master knew they had no choice.

“They failed?” In a dimly lit room, only lit by a single candle flame, a man in a black cloak sat behind a desk and looked at the report that was just handed to him.

“They not only failed, but the girl they were sent to assassinate ended up not only unharmed but our own people were captured by a young girl and skinned alive. The torture they were put through was enough to kill many of our men over.” The man kneeling on the floor replied.

“Alright send out some rank one universal core assassins. Let’s see if the one protecting the target can handle them.” The man behind the desk hated not completing a task in one go. It was fine if some astral star realm cultivators died in battle as long as they killed their targets, but to be killed without actually finishing the job was another story.

“Master, I think we should leave this job alone….” The man kneeling on the floor stated. His was already drenched in sweat.

“Oh? And why is that?” The man asked.

“Because…. There are too many unknown factors, and it seems the head hunter is also there. She might not look like her normal self, but the watcher said he sensed her presence.” The man kneeling on the floor replied.

“I see…. But I do not care. Do as I say. Some head hunter means nothing. We just need the girl killed. Do the job, and the rewards will come. That is our motto. So do your fucking job.”

A wave of pressure hit the man kneeling on the floor, making his face slam into said floor. Pain filled his face. He could only wait for the pressure to disappear before finally standing up and saying: “I will do it right away, Master!”
