The Star System: Rise To The Top

After buying a guitar, Kane, who had a dream of becoming a singer-songwriter, stumbled upon a strange glass bead that held within it a system called the Star System. From this moment on, Kane's life slowly started to change. He completed missions and worked hard to earn money to follow his dream, all while taking…

Recording Part 2

After hearing what Kane had to say about Stacey, Mama Claire immediately ordered Kane to stay home and stay by her side until they heard the news. This meant that both of them got the day off. Kane was very happy about this since he would be able to start getting things set up for recording. Although, he was a little nervous about how it would turn out.

Kane sat in his room, the things he bought yesterday placed in front of him, with Stacey leaning over the side of the bed, looking at him. “You going to put things together?”

“Mmm… Although I have never been too computer savvy. This is even my first time owning a laptop.” Kane scratched his head. All of this was new to him, so he did not know much about these things.

“Let me help you. Jackie used to let me use her laptop all the time.” Stacey slipped off the bed, pulled the hem of the shirt she was wearing up to her waist, exposing her panties, and sat in Kane’s lap.

Kane rested his chin on her shoulder as he watched her get to work. She opened the laptop and turned it on. “First, we need to set it up so that only we can access it. We do not want anything to be stolen after all.”

Stacey went right to work setting up the laptop. Once she had made a user with a password which she made a combination of her’s and Kane’s birthdays, she began setting up the wifi. “Next is the wifi. This is the most important. Since this is how we will do our research on what things will be needed for making videos.”

“You know a lot…” Kane felt defeated. His little minx was much smarter than him when it came to this stuff.

“I only know this because I have been asking Jackie about it. She can build computers from the ground up. She always amazes me with how well she can do things.” Stacey was a little envious. Jackie was well off, so it was surprising to start with that she was friends with her. Most of the girls in class stayed away from her. But that was probably because of Jackie as well. When all was said and done, she believed that even if she was friends with other girls, they would be nowhere close to Jackie, who could be considered a true friend.

“It’s good that she is, or else I might have been here a while.” Kane was honest about his downsides. He just hoped he could learn these things quickly.

Stacey did her thing while Kane watched. After about three hours, the laptop was set up. The mic he bought was set to the side, and now he had the ability to record himself singing while playing the guitar.

“All set!” Stacey turned and looked up at Kane with a smile before kissing the bottom of his chin. “You can start when you are ready.”

“Cool, thanks, Stacey. I would have been here for a few days trying to get all the things I need set up for recording.” Kane hugged Stacey’s waist and kissed her neck while rocking her from side to side.

She giggled and leaned into his embrace. She was happy she could do something for Kane for a change. She wiggled her toes before pulling Kane’s hands apart and getting up. “I want to hear you sing, so let’s get your first recording going.”

“Alright.” Kane nodded and picked up his guitar. Stacey set the laptop up on a small coffee table that Kane had found a few days ago and had Kane sit in front of it. The mic was one that had to be held with the hand, so Stacey planned to hold it for him while he sang.

“Are you ready?” Stacey asked. She was about to hit play and wanted to make sure Kane was ready to go.

“Yeah. No need to be too proper. I am only trying to get this going to start.” Kane was not looking for millions of views or some kind of high-grade production. He wanted to be a down-to-earth person who loved signing.

“Okay, then you can start whenever,” Stacey announced. She quickly shifted to get the mic and sat next to Kane. Of course, the shirt she was wearing was back down past her knees. She made sure not to expose herself on camera.

Kane smiled at the camera before saying: “Hello, everyone; my name is Kane Woods. And today, I would like to share a song I wrote for my parents, who have passed away. Next to me is my beautiful girlfriend, Stacey. She will be holding the mic for me while I play.”

Stacey blushed and waved her hand. “Hello! I hope you enjoy my boyfriend’s song!”

Kane looked at Stacey and smiled. He then closed his eyes for a few seconds before taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly. Only then did he begin strumming his guitar.

His voice started off soft and melodic….

~~~~~~~
I just want you to know~
I miss you~
You gave me life~
You gave me a reason to keep on living~
~~~~~~~

Kane continued to sing. While he sang, Stacey’s hand trembled as tears welled up in her eyes. The emotions that Kane was producing right now were much different from when she heard him humming to himself. This was what the song was truly supposed to sound like.

~~~~~~~
     Everyday….
I would see you smile.
Everyday….
I would follow your lead.
Everyday….
You gave me everything I needed~
Everything I needed~
~~~~~~~

Kane kept singing until it slowly got toward the end…

~~~~~~~
You taught me everything I know~
You taught me how I should be~
You taught me  eee eee eeee ee~
You taught me so much~
But here I am…..
Here I am, looking up at the sky.
That’s so high.
And wondering one thing…..
~~~~~~~

He slowed his words as he went into the last chorus.

~~~~~~~
Why did you leave?
Why did you have to go?
Why do I feel so empty inside~?
But I can say that I am here.
And I will live the life you wished for me.
~~~~~~~

As Kane finished the last verse, he continued to strum the guitar for a while before finally finishing. He took a deep breath to control his emotions before saying. “This song is dedicated to my parents. It is called: Why?”
