Pokemon: Merged Worlds Ivys Legacy
Chapter 12
“So what do you think we should do now?” Ivy was at a loss for what to do next. She knew she had to grow stronger, but she was unsure how.
“We will continue what we were doing before. This time we have all the necessities.” Ellee looked at the girl whose hair was all over the place and held her head. ‘Am I a nanny!?’ Ellee walked over and helped Ivy smooth out her hair. “Ivy, you are the Master, not me. So you should be the one to decide these things.”
“I know… But I grew up in a secluded village, you know more about the world than I do.” Ivy leaned back into Ellee and looked up at her. “I want to get stronger. And I have a feeling I need to at least be able to use this breathing technique before the timer reaches zero. Ellee will you help me?”
“Isn’t that a given?” Ellee chuckled and knocked Ivy on the head. “I wouldn’t have gone through all this trouble just to leave you alone now.”
Ivy rubbed her head and sat up. “It’s strange, you are like an older sister yet you are a pikachu.”
“I don’t think my race has anything to do with it. Even pikachus have families. I may have been cast out, but when I was younger, I had siblings, you know. You will find most pokemon are family oriented. This is what makes us so territorial. Just like humans we take care of our own, and we can also fight amongst ourselves.” Ellee explained as she stretched her arms. She was no longer bothered about her past. She had Ivy now, so she was no longer alone.
“I see… Sorry… And thanks. I will live up to my promise. I will become the strongest.” Ivy grabbed her sword and attached it to her waist. She then grabbed the new backpack they had acquired, thanks to the kindness of the villagers. She now had a few sets of clothes and a few daily necessities.
“Our first target is a spearow. After that I think you should think about capturing a bulbasaur. Their vines are good for attacking as well as restraining targets. Plus, I want to see if capturing one will also result in a humanoid as well.” Ellee was very curious about this. She wondered if it was a fluke of Ivy’s strange system that she had become a humanoid.
“Yeah, I want to get more pokemon as well but I am worried about what will happen if they decide to attack. You may not realize it, Ellee but you are much more powerful in your new form than you were as a pikachu. If you were to evolve later on your strength will grow even more.”
“Now that you mention it I have noticed that my attacks are much stronger. But don’t worry, if you are attacked I will be there to protect you. I wouldn’t suggest that you capture more pokemon if I wasn’t going to protect you.”
“Then I will be relying on you, Big Sister Ellee.” Ivy teased, which, to her surprise, caused Ellee to blush. With a smug grin, Ivy began to tease her even more. “Oh? It seems someone likes being called Big Sister. Ouch! Stop knocking my head!”
“Humph!” Ellee snorted. “Let’s go!”
Ivy rubbed her head as she followed Ellee out of the house. They went and said goodbye to the villagers before heading out back onto the open road. “At least the storms are staying away from this area. To think this was because…”
“Ivy, don’t even mention it. You are not fully at fault. You were unable to control yourself. If anyone is to blame it is me for not stopping you. And to be honest, I couldn't care less. So keep your thoughts on your goal. You want to keep your promise to me, right?” Ellee could care less about the promise, but since it was Ivy’s current driving force, she would use it to keep Ivy looking forward and not dwelling on what they could not change.
“Of course!” Ivy nodded her head up and down.
“Then let’s head to the forest edge. We should be able to find both spearows and bulbasaur there.”
The two traveled for half a day before they arrived at their destination. “The pokemon around here are still acting as normal.” Ivy had taken notice of how the pokemon were acting as if nothing was wrong, even though not too far off in the distance, storms were raging. She could also feel small vibrations underfoot as well.
“We normally will not run from anything unless it is an immediate danger. If we ran everytime we spotted something strange we would die of exhaustion.” Ellee explained. Pokemon all had natural survival instincts but they never went off unless it was true danger. “I will let you know if I sense anything.”
“Okay. But now the problem is the spearow. They normally fly in flocks.” Ivy looked up at the trees not too far away and wondered just how they were going to deal with so many. She could spot five, but she was not sure if that was all of them.
“This is what training is about. I will protect you if there is a need to. Before you attack you should first attempt to use your new abilities. Test out this breathing technique thing and see if you can get the hang of it before entering combat.” Ellee understood that these new skills that Ivy got were new to her and did not explain how to use them at all.
Ivy took a deep breath and closed her eyes. As she took in a deep breath and slowly let it out, she could feel something kind of click in her mind. Her breathing slowed, and her breaths became longer and deeper…
