Creating Worlds

Soul Fusion Magas System

Sora had only one reason to live, and that was for his little sister. Taken away by fate, not only once but twice, Sora found himself overwhelmed with sadness and hate. A chance encounter... A new goal to keep him moving forward... New friends and enemies... A world where the strong rule. A place where…

Leaving The Abyss Part 2

Sora had no idea if it was a heaven-sent gift or not, but there was a small inlet in part of the wall just big enough for him to crouch down in. Sora turned and blasted a few fireballs into the air to destroy the incoming debris as he dashed forward with everything he had. Just before reaching the inlet, Sora's face paled when he saw a huge chunk of the ceiling falling on top of him. He went into a full-on dash and slide without a second thought and slid straight into the inlet as the massive section of the ceiling cut him off from the main cavern entrance.

“Ahh! I thought I was going to die!” Sora yelled out as he laid on his back, his head inches from where the massive rock fell. He was covered in sweat and breathing heavily as he had put his everything into escaping just now.

“We might be in a bit of trouble, and we might not. While the entrance is closed off, this place you have entered may look like a small inlet from afar, but in fact, it seems to be a tunnel of some kind. As far as I can tell, it does angle upwards. But I am unsure how far up it goes. It could also lead to a monster den. I am unable to see its exit points.” Yumi only had a limited range of detection, and sadly the exit to the tunnel was not within her range.

“Not like I have a choice. I already blocked us off from the outside. But Yumi, let me tell you now. I will no longer shoot at ceilings while inside a cave.” Sora said in a disgruntled voice. If he had a feeling somthing bad would happen if he did what Yumi asked, and it seemed his feeling was correct. But although he felt a little upset, he would have regretted it if he did not at least attempt to do as Yumi had asked.

“Fine! I won’t ask you to do anything of the sort again!” Yumi replied with pursed lips. She didn’t know the ceiling was so weak! Although it was a possibility for it to collapse in on itself, the chances were really slim. Sora just had bad luck!

“I guess I will follow this tunnel then and see where it leads,” Sora said while, with great difficulty, turned his body around and began crawling towards the darkness ahead of him.

Sora had no idea how many hours had passed since he started down the tunnel, but he knew one thing, at this moment and time, his knees, elbows, and hands hurt. The tunnel itself varied in height, making it so sometimes Sora had to be on his stomach edging forward. While he knew this might possibly be a futile struggle, Sora did not care. His only thought was that things might work out if he continued. He had to keep telling himself as such as he did not wish to fall into despair, at least not yet. Only when there were no options would Sora begin to have such thoughts.

After a while, Sora began to really feel tired, forcing him to take a break. He closed his eyes and instantly entered his dreamscape. What came into view was Yumi’s amazingly stunning body, and a beautiful face that was slightly pouting and turned away from him with her arms across her chest made him smile. It made him feel less lonely knowing he was not going through this all alone, even if Yumi was only in his head.

“Yumi, why are you so mad?” Sora asked as he stepped forward and went to hug her, only to have her step back. But Sora did not stop. He reached out and grabbed her hand, pulling her toward him and hugging her anyway. She really did give up much resistance. He stroked her hair as he said: “I know you didn’t do this on purpose. So let’s just forget about it and work on what we will need to do now to survive.”

“Humph!” Yumi snorted but didn’t say anything else. She even allowed Sora to pull her with him as he sat down, placing her right in his lap.

Sora didn’t mind her as he opened his menu and looked at his current skills. “I have two bars, one for attack spells and one for everyday spells. Between cleaning spells and lighting spells. But none that I can use as a sort of detection.”

As Sora mumbled to himself, he went and opened the window that is used for creating things. He began looking through the list of nodes that were the base nodes to make anything. “So I will need an on-call widget node and start from there….”

With each node being connected, a long string of nodes began to form. Each one had its own tasks. It started with an on-call widget node to allow Sora to call the widget on command. Then he connected a blank canvas node which would be used to draw out a map around him. From there, he used a sensory node and times it by a variable bias of twenty times from his current location. After using a few more math nodes, he was able to create an area around him for sensory within twenty miles. It was effectively stronger than Yumi’s innate ability to detect things.

“Let’s see now. I just need to use this here to create a flat map of everything, including rocks, monsters, and any kind of exit.” Sora kept tweaking the nodes until finally, he had a proper mini-map made that told him everything in his surroundings. It worked by casting an invisible ray and bouncing it off objects all around him, effectively mapping his surroundings. It then took that information and created a flat 2D map for him to visually see the information. Since it was constant, he could easily detect what was what. Because the invisible rays would bounce back and tell Sora if the object it hit was alive or not. So monsters would show up on the map as red icons while he himself would be a small blue arrow with the point being the direction he, himself, was moving in.

Yumi was surprised to see Sora making such a complex program already by himself. So far, he had only made simple programs and had been learning math. Now she felt kind of useless as Sora would have no reason to talk to her as much. Thinking this, she pouted more and turned and bit his arm out of frustration.
