I Failed To Be Truck Kun’d And Was Forced Into A VRMMO As A Cat-Girl
Looting
Lexy was very happy today. After eating a scrumptious meal at the inn. She went to the best armor and weapon shop in town. Lexy looked around in amazement at all the armors and weapons on display. She was feeling quite giddy because she never got to actually test out any other weapon. She wondered if she could still use a sword. Even if she was a cat girl she could still become the most beautiful swordswoman in the game, and the name Lexy will be written into legend. "Hehe... Slurp!" The inner otaku of her real self was beginning to show as her expression began to make people back away in disgust.
It really seemed that this game was completely against her. When she went to pick up a sword, she was unable to lift it. "Huh?" Lexy was confused, she pulled on the sword hard, but it still wouldn't budge. Thinking that it was because she was too weak, she went and used her other hand. But it was as if the sword on the table was the legendary sword Excalibur and she was not the chosen one. It would not budge a single inch even when she was using two hands!
"Really!?" Lexy was getting upset. The sword was not a broad sword at all, in fact, it was a small short sword. She just wanted to check it out and give a few swings like she had seen others do. But for some reason, no matter how much she pulled on the sword, it would not budge!
More determined than ever, she raised her leg and braced it against the counter, and tried to pull again! One tug, two tug, thirty tugs! It would not budge no matter what. Right now, the people in the store and even the staff were staring in disbelief at the cat girl who was using two legs to brace against the counter while pulling hard on the sword on the table. Her face was beat red as she made groaning sounds as she continued to pull.
"Should we tell her?"
"That she can't lift it no matter how much she tried?"
"Although I feel bad, the fact that it is so comical is keeping me from telling her the truth."
While the other players were giggling away and watching Lexy embarrass herself for their own entertainment, the shopkeeper behind the counter seemed to have felt bad and walked over to Lexy. "Miss, if your class does not use this weapon, you will never be able to pick it up."
Her words were like doomsday. Lexy, who was in mid pull, froze, her tail slumped down, and so did her ears. She turned and looked at the store clerk with teary eyes as she asked sobbingly: "But what about the legendary swordswoman Lexy?"
The shopkeeper sighed and shook his head. "Miss, I see you have a whip. I think it is best if you give up and come look at the whips I have, I will even give you a discount..."
Yes, it was pity. The shopkeeper felt so bad that he was willing to give the poor girl who tried with all her might to pick up a sword even as a whip user, at least a little off on her whip purchase.
Lexy lowered her head and nodded, and proceeded to walk over to where the whips were, scuffing her feet along the way. Because of how pitiful she looked, the other players began to feel bad for laughing at her. They all made way to allow her to pass. When Lexy arrived at the whips, she was able to easily pick one up off the shelf. She turned to the shopkeeper and asked: "So if I find a sword like in a chest or something, I can not loot it?"
"Oh no, you can. You see, loot items besides harvested items are in a ghost form and will auto go into your inventory once you touch the item. From there, you can sell it to other players through the trade window, auction house, or to shops. But you will never be able to hold it in physical form unless your class can use it." The shopkeeper was kind enough to explain how looting worked within the game. But hearing the explanation crushed any hope Lexy had in holding a sword for as long as she was alive.
"Thanks..." Lexy let out a depressed sigh as she turned her attention back to the whips. Whips were not bad weapons but took a lot of practice to really be good at them. Lexy looked at the three whips that were there. They were all pretty basic looking, but each whip required a different set of stats to use.
[Basic Whip]
[Attack Power +5]
[Requirement]
[Level: 2]
[Strength: 2]
[Agility: 6]
[Lesser Snake Fang Whip]
[Attack Power +15]

[Strength: 4]
[Agility: 25]
[Bonus Ability]
[Poison Minor: 3% chance to poison the target.]
[Damage: 3 magic damage every second for duration.]
[Duration 5 seconds]
[Lesser Flame Whip]
[Attack Power +55]
[Requirement]
[Level: 10]
[Strength: 10]
[Agility: 55]
[Bonus Ability]
[Burn Minor: 5% chance to burn target.]
[Damage: 8 magic damage every second for duration.]
[Duration 10 seconds]
Lexy scratched her head, looking at the stats. "Well… Since these two are close in level, I will buy them, but forty silver for both is steep." Says the cat girl with over a hundred and fifty gold in her inventory.
"Don't worry if you get both. I will give you a thirty percent discount. Making your charge 26 silver." The shopkeeper offered.
"Okay, I will take both then. Umm, do you have any armor for beginner whip users?" Lexy hoped she could at least update her current gear. By upping her defense, she would be able to easily get to level two and equip her first new whip. The basic whip was only a white item, but it was much stronger than her rope. As for the lesser snake fang whip, it was a green item. She couldn't wait to equip that. Its damage was twice as high, and also had a chance to poison her targets.
The shopkeeper nodded his head at Lexy's question and said: "Follow me, I will show you."
