“This is?” Sora looked at the screen curiously. He had no idea what any of it did, but it did pique his interest.

“This is the soul fusion magas system’s interface. What you are looking at now is what is called a desktop. It currently has two applications. The first application is the main editor for creating new spells and other things. As the master of the soul fusion magas system, you are in control of a creation-type magic that allows you to create things through the nodes within the editor.  

“The second program is a coding program that uses lines of text. It uses a form of code called soul script. It allows you to code out new nodes for the main editor. For now, I would not touch this until you have an understanding of how the main node-based system works. Then you can use such things to build even more useful and powerful nodes.” Yumi explained energetically. She couldn’t wait to see how fast Sora would be able to grow.

“I do not really understand, but I am willing to learn. As long as I am able to get powerful, I do not care how hard the training is or how much I have to endure. I just want to become strong, so I can protect the ones I care about.” Sora's eyes were brimming with determination. Now that he had such a powerful system, he wanted nothing more than to become as powerful as possible. 

Yumi smiled softly, seeing how willing Sora was to learn, and made a firm decision. She would do everything she could to make sure Sora was able to become more powerful than anyone in this world. “Let’s start off with a simple program. Excuse me…” 

Yumi sat down on Sora’s lap and rested her head on his chest. “From now on, we will do system training while you sleep at night, and during the day, you will practice magic. But for now, we will write a program together. See this here?”

Sora looked where Yumi was pointing. He did not seem bothered one bit by having Yumi sitting on his lap as she was. “This rock?”

“Hehe…” Yumi giggled and shook her head. “This is called a mouse. You use it like this.” Yumi took his hand and placed it on the mouse and then began moving his hand around along with the mouse. “See on the window in front of you how the arrow is moving around?”

“Ahh! It really is moving!” Sora’s eyes lit up. He had never seen anything like it before! “This is truly amazing.”

He had a silly smile on his face as he moved the mouse around. Just this was enough to entertain him. When Yumi saw him like this, she couldn’t help but smile. She found his reaction to be very cute.

“Now click the button on the top. Yep just like that. See how a new window opens up? This is the main system for creating different things. For now, we will start simple. We will now go to this tab here, and it will bring up a list of nodes….” Yumi slowly and earnestly began teaching Sora about every step she was taking so he could easily understand. She knew with how Sora had never seen such things before that he would not understand a lot, so she made sure to go into fine detail.

“I see, so this node represents my body?” Sora asked, looking at the human-shaped node on the screen.

“Yep! What we are making is a status program. It will tell us the status of your body. This way, when you train, you can plan out the kind of training you wish to do later on.  From this node, we will use what is called a desktop widget. This will post this data into the widget and allow us to read it. And once you are done, you just save.” Yumi explained.

Sora listened intently, and when he saved the program and switched back to the main screen, he saw what was called a widget that had all his information in it.

“This… I look so weak!” Sora cried out when he saw his status for the first time. All he saw were twos and wanted to cry.

“This is a normal mortal's status, so do not worry. Once you officially enter the magical sensing realm, your stats will go up. Also, when you absorb souls, you will also gain more stats based on the soul type.” Sensing Sora becoming depressed, Yumi quickly explained the details. She seemed overly concerned about Sora’s feelings.

“It just means I will need to work hard. I guess my first goal is to learn how to sense magicules.” Sora immediately decided on his first goal. 

“That’s good. The crevice you are in is the perfect place for this since it is filled with magicules and perfectly safe. The monsters down here are too big to enter. You should use this chance to feel your surroundings and get hang of sensing magicules. Now that you have a mage soul, it should be easy.” Yumi was glad that Sora always thought positive and was ambitious. She closed her eyes and leaned back into Sora’s embrace. She was happy to have a master who was willing to work hard. But a second later, her eyes opened wide when she felt something soft against her lips. She stared at Sora, who had his eyes closed, kissing her. Slowly her eyes closed as well. It was just a kiss with lips pressed against each other, but it was still a kiss, and she did not seem to mind it at all.

As their lips parted, Sora blushed as he said softly: “A kiss of thanks.”

“Humph! You just wanted to kiss me, you perv!” Yumi turned her head away, pretending to be mad, but her lips curled up into an arc. 

Sora laughed and hummed to himself as he messed around with the system. He felt like his future from here on out would be hard, but he did not mind. He kinda enjoyed that he had a beauty he could be close to every day and now had the ability to get strong. He wanted to work hard for not only Leena’s sake now but also to make Yumi know she had a master that was not useless.
