Reborn As An A.I. With A System
Danger Part 2
Inside her home, Lilly was sleeping peacefully. With Tezz cuddled up in her arms. Tezz’s eyes stared off in the darkness, but she was not just lying there doing nothing. “Someone is coming… Alert status one initiated….”
*Seerreeeee!* *Seerreeeee!*
“Ahh! What’s wrong!?” Lilly shot up in bed as the alarms began going off. Her eyes wide open as the red lights flashed throughout the room.
Tezz, who was in her arms, tumbled to the edge of the bed and almost fell off. She quickly turned the alarm off and brought up what was going on outside on the monitor. “Lilly, we have someone trying to break in.”
Lilly looked at the figure who was banging on the warehouse door and frowned as she cursed and quickly got up to get some clothes on. “That fucking asshole! To think he would pick the first night Eve was not going to be here to show up now. Tezz, scan the area. Is there anyone else around?”
“Not that I can see… wait, there is a figure on the top of the building, but it is not human according to the heat sensors. Thanks to the update on the security system, we have an almost panoramic view of what is going on out side, along with many other new sensors.” Tezz answered as she zoomed in on the target. “Seems to be a female. She is only watching as things are happening.”
“So not a good A.I. There will always be the bad and the good. I never thought I would run into another humanoid A.I., but I guess not all of them would be like my Eve.” Lilly tied a side pouch to her waist as she loaded her railgun and holstered her small laser pistol.
“Lilly, are you going topside?” Tezz began to get scared, She did not know what Lilly was planning. and did not want anything bad happening to Lilly.
Lilly looked at the camera and at the crazed Todd before shaking her head. “No, I will stay here like Eve told me to. If he tries to break into the hatch leading down, only then will I take action as for the warehouse… Eve setup some sentry turrets….”
Tezz looked at the madman outside, still banging on the door, and then at Lilly, who was tightly gripping her weapon, and fell into thought. Only after a few seconds did she finally ask: “Lilly, if you want, I can open the shutter and finish this quickly….”
Lilly frowned, but she was also worried about the authorities showing up here. If they tried to search the place… Lilly bit her lip and was about to answer Tezz when a figure suddenly appeared out of nowhere and kicked Todd down to the ground. Lilly’s eyes lit up because she would always recognize the figure she was seeing in the camera at this time. “Eve!”
Outside, Eve had rushed over as fast as she could. With her full speed and using the talent she learned through the manuals, she used the rooftops to quickly make her way across the city to find Todd trying to break into the warehouse. She did not even give Todd a warning before kicking him in the side, sending him flying away from the door. Eve then raised her head to look at the camera and smiled: “Lilly go to bed. Nothing to see here.”
Lilly smiled and reached up to touch the screen before putting her weapons down and walking back over her bed. She fell face first onto the bed and let out a sigh of relief before giggling like a schoolgirl as she rolled around. “My Eve is so amazing!”
Back outside, Eve walked over and punched Todd in the face, instantly breaking his nose and making blood spray everywhere. “You are lucky. You are still useful to someone I know otherwise, I would kill you here and now.”
After saying these words, she knocked him out and pulled out the communicator Ruby gave her. “Ruby, you should thank me because I kept this fucker alive. As for your friend, I hope you do not mind if I discipline her.”
Ruby, who was still sitting outside the redlight district keeping an eye on General Thomas, shivered when she heard Eve’s cold and unfeeling voice. Even as an A.I., she could imagine that 027365 was not going to be in much operating state when Eve was done with her. But Ruby did not say anything, nor did she warn 027365 what was about to happen. This was because she found it was much easier to understand Eve, who was straightforward about things. But even so, she still asked: “Can you leave her with her head and power core intact?”
“Don’t worry, I will bring her to you in a somewhat functional state.” Eve’s cold gaze lifted and landed on 027365, who was on top of the building. 027365 looked at Eve indifferently, not understanding what exactly Eve was.
Eve dragged the knocked out Todd with her as she ran into the back alley away from the warehouse. She tied him to a poll naked outside someone's house with the words: ‘Sinner’ written on his chest in blood before jumping up on top of the building where she found 027365 about to get ready to leave: “And where do you think you are going?”
027365 looked at Eve, unsure what Eve was about to do but still got into a battle mode. She reached to her side and went to pull out a firearm from a hidden compartment on the side of her thigh, but before she could even touch it, the compartment and the weapon was blasted to bits.
*Boom!*
“027365, was it? I think you owe me an explanation on why you did not stop that man just now when X-0001 asked you to. If you do not give me a good answer, I swear I will rip your arms and legs off your body and bring you to Ruby to be scrapped and remade into something that can follow orders. I know, maybe one of those weak little flying scavenger bots. I think your head would make a good little floating ball picking up scraps from the wasteland out there.”
