Over the course of the next few days, the girls only concentrated on fixing the truck and adding weapons, as well as making more handheld weapons for themselves. During this time, Lilly fell asleep in many weird positions as Eve worked through the night. One night she spent the entire night asleep while hugging Eve like a koala bear. If Eve was a human, there would be no way to carry a girl on her back and keep working for hours on end. Luckily Eve was an A.I. which made Lilly’s strange sleeping habits possible.

It was on a Friday that Eve and Lilly had finally prepared themselves to head outside the city once more. “How is it? Can you see any metal?” Eve asked as she adjusted the t-shirt that Lilly bought her to help hide everything below her neck. She also wore a hoodie on top of it. 

“It looks good. Unless you stretch it out, I do not think anyone would notice the difference. Are the sensors working?” Lilly asked as she booted up the heat detection program. Eve stood by herself in front of it, and everything seemed to be working correctly. “Mmm, no problem.”

Lilly then put Tezz in front of the sensor, and everything was fine there as well. “Alright, I think we are good. Tezz, remember you must not move at all.”

“I understand,” Tezz replied. She was very excited. For the first time in her life, she would finally be able to go outside and see the world.

“All hard drives are backed up, right?” Eve asked.

“They are.” Lilly nodded as she showed Eve the glass storage device.

“Then I will store the computers now.” Eve had placed all the items in the house  in her inventory. This was so if anyone broke in while they were gone, nothing would be discovered. They would literally find nothing but a tub and toilet. If it was not bolted down, Eve stored it.

“Alright, let’s get going then.” Lilly held a duffle bag on her shoulder. This was empty, but it made things look more normal than two girls going out with nothing at all.

Lilly opened the warehouse shutter while Eve took Tezz and placed her in the truck in the middle of the seat before sitting down herself. Lilly came back and started the truck. Their journey outside was about to begin. They were off to find more chemicals to make skin for Eve’s torso and waist and to explore around a bit more. They decided to make a three-day trip out of it.

After pulling out of the warehouse, Lilly had to get out once again to close and lock the shutter. Only then did they head towards the main gate. As Lilly was driving up, she caught sight of a familiar figure. “Gah! Why is he always working when I go to leave the city!?”

“Oh? My dear Lilly, is this the handsome man you are cheating on me with?” Eve asked teasingly as she poked Lilly’s ribs, causing her to jump.

“As if! The one I love is you. I would never put anyone else in my eyes.” Lilly puffed her cheeks out angrily, but they soon blushed as she realized what she had just said. 

“Then should we tease him a little?” Eve asked. She didn’t like that this man would most definitely hit on her girlfriend. Yes, Eve was showing a hint of jealousy.

“Mmm… We should.” Lilly nodded. She hoped to once and for all put a stop to this man hitting on her. She did not like him in the slightest and did not wish to play this game anymore.

As they pulled up, Eve was leaning her head on Lilly’s shoulder with her eyes closed. One of her hands was holding Lilly’s hand, their fingers interlocked. Their current position was very intimate. When the guards saw Lilly pulling up, they all quickly began talking. “Oh!? What is this? Lilly is with someone else.”

“Ah, look at Todd. He is frozen stiff. He didn’t even make it to the truck yet.” 

“From here, it seems the two in the truck are very close. I think I now understand why Lilly never got married to a man. She doesn't even like men!”

“One hundred credits says Todd will still try to ask Lilly out.”

“Two hundred says he will not only ask her out but also say Lilly’s friend can join.”

“He wouldn’t, would he?”

“He has loved Lilly for a long time….”

As the guards continued making bets, Todd stared at the additional figure in the truck with the girl he loved, trying to comprehend the situation. It took him a minute to actually pull himself back from his stupor. He walked forward and looked in the truck. The person had metal legs, but her hands were human. He gritted his teeth, knowing it was a cyborg. It seemed Lilly had found a rich partner. But what really annoyed him was how their fingers were interlocked, and the person was resting their head on Lilly’s shoulder!

“Lilly, this is?” Todd finally asked.

“None of your business?” Lilly responded very defensively. Her expression looking at Todd was extremely cold.

It was at that time that Eve opened her eyes and ‘Sleepily’ raised her head and leaned over, kissing Lilly’s cheek. “Baby, are we outside yet?”

Lilly almost burst out laughing. It took everything she had to hold it in and keep a straight face as she looked back lovingly at Eve and shook her head. “No, honey, we are about to go through inspection.”

“Oh…” Eve raised her head and looked at Todd. “This is one of the guards?”

“Yes, don’t worry about him. He is a nobody.” Lilly replied.

Outside the truck, listening to all of this, Todd’s face was turning all kinds of different colors. “Lilly, what is going on!? You are with someone else!? After all the times I have asked you out, you go out and date someone else!? What happened to the ‘I don’t shower and piss myself on a daily’ shit you always spat out!?”

Tod was angry. He did not understand what was so good about this new person. They were not even fully human anymore! Todd was someone who saw all people who were cyborgs as an enemy. His eyes flashed with a cold light as he looked directly at Eve and ordered: “Get out of the truck. I need to make sure you are not some kind of A.I. spy!”
